At last Miss Hoodie has choosen her winners for the £2 challenge - she wanted to say thank you to everyone for taking part and you all deserve a prize.

    Our 2 winners

Echo-Delta - for the ear-plugs - Miss Hoodie fell about laughing (she did say do they work as she reckons I snore when we share a room on holiday!!)

Mrs MoneyPenny - for the bird seed idea - we both thought

Oh my word! Thank you so much, this has made my day!!! :D

Please tell Miss Hoodie that the ear plugs did muffle it a bit but they fell out as soon as I moved so limited success. Apparently the mouldable ones are better. But I am certain that you cannot possibly snore like dh, it's horrendous!

    Fabulous furniture bargain!

And loving the crochet squares. Lovely colours.

I have been a bit rubbish this week. Stupidly busy at work (but a bit of paid over time which is nice - and unusual!).

We have sussed out what to get for a couple more people - garden tools - so are scouring ebay for bargains. Plus have been doing some practice drawings in preparation for doing some of grandchildren for the in-laws. Feels daunting! My project for the week is to find books for clutch bags so please shout at me if I don't have them by next week!

    Take care all xx

Miss Hoodie has got me busy knitting, - a baby matinee coat - in pale lilac, one of the waiters at the hotel we stay at his wife expecting their 1st child in Aug (a little girl) a lady we made friends with is going back out in Aug, so shes going to take it for us. Miss Hoodies wants to get him a couple of little gifts to go with it, - say take her to £1land - she can spend £3 - bless her heart.

Bargains - Brantano have some really good sale items - not just kids shoes but adults as well, anything from 30 to 50% off.

Picked pr of school shoes £28 - got 30% off - though just over £23 to pay reduced again to £10........ one happy bunny - esp as her last shoes have lasted since Sept (they were half price as well!!) xx

dropped stitches are a pain especially if its textured wool so hard to pick up. ive had to take a few rows back till im on a full row of loops before now.

posted the last of the april birthday cards this morning

May only has one birthday in it and ive already got the card for that. so need to be cracking on with my stitching for DDs 21st as thats hit a plateau at the mo.

hope everyone is well. we had a shower earlier but generally its a nice day.

    Hi all,
Been reading and thought it was time I dropped in. Loving all of your thrifty ideas:D:D:D
I have loyalty and savings cards for all the stores i regularly use. I renew insurances etc online for additional nectar points. I only buy petrol at Sains- nectar again - or Morry's for the £5 shopping voucher.
I shop online for reduced bargains after Christmas and have a spreadsheet running for birthdays as well as the big 25th!!!!;)
Hoping to be a little more creative this year and am taking up crochet in the hopes of making some more personal gifts for family and friends.
I do make home cooked gifts- chutneys, mincemeat etc.
I have also made "cookies in a jar" for younger children's gifts.
I have been copying and pasting ideas onto my gift/ idea page too so thanks to all..........too many to mention.
Hope to keep in regular contact with you all.

Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible:j
Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say
    Loving de-cluttering

not sure if this will help anyone
read in this mornings daily mail in Saturdays DM there will be a "brilliant beginners guide to learn to sew" its a 32 page magazine free
shows a photo of a happy looking mum with a child shes just made a dress for with the caption 'start sewing' they are usually followed by a week of pick up an instruction card each day from Ts or WHS along with the paper an related token collect offers that also run for a week.
recently theyve done knitting an slimming.
