keeps spending

  • If she is spending £200 a month, on texts by the sounds of it, rather than buying a £30 bolt on for a further 1000 texts, she would be better off getting another contract.

For £35 she can get unlimited texts ( well 3000 anyway) and 900 minutes on a sim only contract from orange

    £70 a month is a lot cheaper than £200

    Hi Monaro.
We are having the same problem with our 16 year old son and O2! We have an 18 month contract and can't wait to get out of it. We have 750mins and 750 texts and I think we pay £45 per month. Well we should but he goes over every month. We also asked o2 to put a credit limit on but they weren't interested. Why should they be they are doing very nicely out of us! Also their web site is very difficult to navigate in my opinion. They are at least 24 hours behind updating your account, sometimes more and there seems to be no number to ring to check your balance by phone. No wonder the youngsters are going over the contracted minutes.

I'm with Virgin mobile £10 sim and my account is up to date online within half an hour and their web site is very easy to use. Also I can ring 789 from my mobile to check my balance so I always know what is left. I'm sure o2 could make things simpler if they chose to.
I would avoid them like the plague in future!
Good luck. Please post back if you have any luck putting a limit on your daughters account.
