Evening all, I'm having spending my Saturday night at home in front of Strictly and on the iPad. Oh well, at least it's cheap!

That's the problem with always being a bit skint I think. My level of skint means that I can live day to day, but as soon as a big spend (like the upcoming Thai trip) gets thrown into the mix things get super tight.

I currently have £140 to my name, with 20 days till pay day. OH will be adding £160 every Wednesday when he gets paid, but that money needs to go towards our flights. We still have £880 to be paid off our flights. I think that I can only expect another 3 pay packets from OH as his job will finish on 23rd December. That money, plus £300 joint birthdays/Christmas from Mum means I'll still be £100 short. It's going to be tight!

I'm determined not to start 2014 with more credit card debt to pay off, so I'm just going to have to be smart. I clearly can't afford to spend any money at all really.

I've triggered on my Amex card to get a £100 in vouchers, so I'll try to get them in places that will help my situation. That's unfortunately all that I can think of at the moment.

I really don't want to be fat in Thailand so fortunately my priority at the moment is gym gym and more gym (at least it's paid for already!) Although the 3 personal training sessions that I will have in the run up to Thailand will be £45 each. Some things I don't mind paying for though, I'll consider it a birthday present to myself!

Hello everyone! I haven't been on here in ages! Time has been flying... Also was feeling really fed up for a while, don't really know why, maybe the long dark days, feeling a bit stressed... so I was keeping quiet. Feeling better now though. Maybe it's the Christmas spirit :)

I'm in the middle of a pre Christmas flat cleanse at the moment, I want everywhere to be sparkling for the big day. So I've opened a bottle of wine and I'm working my way through *sighs* Times like this, I'm glad to have a flat, how do people in big houses cope!!

I've been as savvy as possible this Christmas (without becoming scroogey I hope!) OH has a big pile of presents, lots of foodie treats have been procured and I still have £33 in M&S vouchers left to buy fresh food with tomorrow.

OH had a dental disaster the other week which was £400 to fix. Of course he didn't have any money so I ended up paying. Also he has only contributed £40 towards his (£560) flight to Thailand! Even taking this utter nonsense into consideration, I will only be finishing the month with £980 on my credit card that shouldn't be there.

I've finally finished paying for the sofa so am £60 a month better off. It makes a difference...

I'll also be working at least 3 unsocial shifts a month now so should be an increase of about £150 a month in the salary. That will also really help!

Pay day yesterday (gotta love Christmas for an early pay day!) When all is said and done, I have £500 to last me till next pay day. I'd love to pay off the £980 come next pay day so I'll try and keep some back. I'll be in Thailand living a hippyish existence for 2 weeks so hopefully this will be possible.

My Mum usually gives me some money for Christmas and I'm optimistic that OH will pay his bills on one week so hopefully the £980 will actually be reduced a bit anyway.

Need to start 2014 on the right foot money wise!

    Have a good evening everyone...

Time to have some more wine and clean the bathroom!! xx

    Hi everyone!

I'm just checking in ahead of my Thailand trip tomorrow. (Weather permitting, hope there's no more storms).

The long and short of it is that I have £830 outstanding on my credit card which shouldn't be there. OH not paying his way just letting me deal with everything is getting seriously old. It is interest free, as I pay my rent on my credit card every month to get the cash back. But that's not the point! I was doing so well *sighs!*

I need to get back to my money saving ways, been slacking a bit lately.

Have just packed very carefully for my holiday, hopefully won't need to buy any kind of toiletries when I get there so at least that's a start.

Anyway, enough of my moaning! Time to get into the holiday spirit :)

Happy New Year! It has been great checking in with you over the last year and I hope it will continue into 2014 and beyond.

    Happy 2014 everyone!

I have decided to start a new thread for this diary. I am (thankfully) in a different place than I was when I started writing this and wanted to mark that in some way. I will call it 'Keeping At It' as this pretty much sums up my life from a moneysaving perspective and in some other areas too at the moment.

I feel like I've made progress in 2013, but there's still a way to go. More ramblings about that over on the new thread in a minute!

I have really enjoyed being in touch with the people I have found through writing this diary. The support I have found here has been so precious. I really hope that this can continue into 2014, well I'll be checking in on you guys anyway!

Lots of love and good luck for 2014 xxx
