Work continues to be a bit slow... Shouldn't complain, as I am leaving and don't really want to involve myself in much anyway!

Spent £58 on boots.com today (as a result of being bored at work and seeing a glitch on the grabbit forum!) For that I got 3 perfumes for hubby for Christmas/when he needs a new one and some other essentials and £28 worth of points. I'm trying to do a whole years worth of toiletry shopping and make the most of the Boots Christmas points promotions at the same time. Not sure what I'll spend the points on if I already have a years worth of toiletries but there's bound to be something I'm sure, Christmas presents etc.

Really hope hubby keeps behaving himself on the work front now that I've done that though!!

Roll on 5 o'clock, just need to go via the supermarket and buy some chicken and some eggs. Then I'll use up some freebie chicken sauce and dip thing that I already have at home.

    Happy debt busting everyone x

£3 spent in WHS today (result of intense boredom at work, thank god I'm leaving soon!) Although £2 of that was on a magazine which is £3.90 elsewhere and had free facecream with it. So still (kind of) money saving I guess! I don't want to spend the big bucks on face cream any time soon, so like to collect freebies where possible.

As per the weekly email, I applied for an american express charge card (for the £100 of vouchers). They want a payslip- no problem and a certified copy of an ID document. This will cost me £7.15 to get from the PO. I'm assuming (hopefully rightly!) that the fact that they are requesting these things from me means that they will then give me the card! Think I'll go ahead with it, but really hope I don't then get rejected!!

I've decided to account switch for the switching cash to Halifax, if I manage to stay out of both OD's and if OH keeps his job until I get paid.

Hope everyones debt busting is going well x

Well the fire alarm in my building went off non stop for an hour between 2 and 3am this morning!! So unfortunately I didn't do anything I should have done before work this morning...

Work is nice and quiet and one of our big procedures has been cancelled so I am going to spend the day pottering and then hopefully go home on time (or a little early if I'm lucky!)

Was going to go to the boots points event after work today. Myself and OH always use the same products so it makes sense to stock up on a whole years worth at the points events. Then I looked on grabbit and saw that two promotions were kicking in at once, meaning 2200 points on a £75 spend rather than 1200 on a £50. So I've ordered that already. It's very tempting to put another order through for the rest of the stuff we need, but it is going on my credit card for now so perhaps I shouldn't. (I'm expecting to be able to pay this off with OH's wages before I get paid though). I'll have to ponder it for a while I think! There will be other points events after all....

OH got paid yesterday :) and he's paid his bills money. £80 will go into the bank on Saturday, then all of our DD's will be covered for the month. This leaves £80 plus some change in my purse. £23 of that will need to go on my travel card so £60 left. I will aim to have as much of that left over as possible by next week. I'm really hoping that OH keeps his job for another week, then I can use that money to pay off the Boots purchases on my cc. I'm feeling quite positive about that.

Think I won't do a Portuguese lesson on Saturday. I'll be up bright and early for PT at 9, then I need to go to the post office and then to the post office depot (miles away!) to pick Mum's chocs up. All this will need to be done by 1 so wouldn't have time for my lesson.
Be good not to spend the money too!
    Bye for now

Another order put through on Boots.com. Oh dear! I just can't resist a bargain, clearly. On the plus side, I have a whole years worth of toiletries for myself and OH (probably), and £72 worth of points. Right, no more spending!!

Haven't been very well behaved over the w/end! Am now at work with a massive hangover for my troubles. Oh dear....

    So, money saving wise:
I haven't managed to pay into the bank. I have £50 in my purse and need to pay in £70 to cover the DDs. I will do this on Friday before work.

I currently have £197 on my cc due to all the Boots orders. When OH gets paid on Wednesday I will pay £50 off this. So, there will still be a balance of £147. The following Wednesday I will pay another £50 so there'll be a balance of £97. The dilemma is that I still have x2 orders in store to collect. They will come to £125 (but I'll get loads of points with them.) I'm thinking about not collecting them so that I don't have to pay. They'll keep them until the 26th so I think I'll leave them there and see how the finances and OHs job goes. If all is well on the 25th then I'll go and get them. In the mean time, I really mustn't spend even a penny until OH gets paid on Wednesday.

Well, Boots have taken their money even though I haven't collected my stuff! I guess they'd refund it if I left it long enough.

Got a stinking cold and need cheering up so I think I'll go and pick it up after work and then just try and pay off as much as possible with OH's money before pay day. It's all stuff I'll need during the year anyway and it doesn't make sense to buy it when there's no points deals on...

Then home, walk the dog and see what I can get out of the kitchen cupboards for dinner x

OH's pay day has rolled around again :) 40 pounds left in my purse... 328 pounds on my cc :(

    So the plan is:
Pay 80 into my bank on Friday (to definitely cover the DDs and avoid any nasty charges!) This will leave 40-50 left for spends during the week (after paying for travel and Portuguese lesson).

When OH gets paid on the 23rd, pay 100 off my cc. Again, this will leave around 40-50 to live off for the week (won't have a Portuguese lesson that week!)

Both OH and I get paid on the 30th so I can use the whole 160 to put on my cc. There will still be 70 to pay, but that's fine, I can use some of my wages.

On Friday I will also take my stuff to the Halifax to get the switching process (and the switching money!) rolling.

Hmmm, it's going to have to be a frugal couple of weeks!!

Evening all! Am I ever glad that it's Friday tomorrow, I have had a rubbish week!! Haven't exercised at all due to my cold. Work has been mega boring, I also have a major case of gate fever now that I only have a week to go there (thank God!!)

On the plus side, I have spent very little money. Mainly due to feeling so lousy that I've just been coming back from work every day and collapsing on the sofa! I think (hope) that the cold is on it's way out now, so if by some miracle I sleep really well tonight, I could even hit the gym before my 11am start tomorrow.

My calculations were a bit wrong in my previous post (probably my brain trying to work through the fog of work and cold!) So, after paying DD money into the bank, paying for my travel and my portuguese lesson I will have about £70 in my purse. Of this I will try to spend as little as possible this week (until OH gets paid on Wednesday). I won't have a Portuguese lesson that week and will also spend as little as possible. The combination of these two things will hopefully be that I'll have a nice chunk to put back on my cc. Then on the next Wednesday I can finally pay the darned thing off altogether. My dream of making it through the month without owing money to anywhere might come true yet!! I definitely wouldn't want to live every month like this though, I'd like to have a little more fun...If all goes well in November then I can live within my means on my wages and save OH's rent money. Of course Christmas is going to come along and throw a spanner in the works, but I'll worry about that later! Please OH, hang onto your job for just two more pay packets and all will be well!

I'm into my last hour at work, so thought I'd take the opportunity for a little updatage!

I'm not doing anything social tonight, basically because my pre pay day state of necessary frugality doesn't allow for it! My flat is in need of some TLC, so I'll take the spare time and and have a rummage in the cupboards and get the place organised again. Yeah i know, rock 'n' roll!!

Personal training tomorrow and maybe a Portuguese lesson. I say maybe as the guy is trying to fit me in. If he doesn't then £23 saved so I don't mind! OH off work Sat night/Sunday so I'm saving my spending money so we can do something together.

Right, my patients seem to be looking forward to the weekend too and have all just left so I'm going to close up and get out of here! Happy Friday xx

Bottom half of the flat scrubbed and organised! I'll do upstairs tomorrow.

Small victories... got an email saying I'd been accepted for the american express rewards card (as recommended in the MSE weekly email by our guru!) Apparently it will arrive in the next 10 working days so hopefully it will be in time to pay my rent (due on the first of the month) on it. The plan is, pay November and Decembers rent like this, plus something for a little over £40 and I'll trigger the rewards, so hopefully a nice £100 M&S voucher in time for Christmas. Will cancel my standing order for rent in a minute so I don't get caught out!

Will pop into the Natwest to pay in some cash before my now confirmed portuguese lesson tomorrow. Will then go to the halifax with my documents to open my account (and get some switching money eventually!) Then I'll go for a free coffee with a voucher I have in cafe nero prior to my training. Money saving or what lol!

Then I just need to not go mad and blow too much money the rest of the weekend...

Have a good weekend everyone x
