Very much into the swing of relaxing! :D

Back to Earth with a bit of a bump today, as DH has gone back to work. The weather is awful here so I'm not planning on doing much, apart from sorting out space for the new things to go!

Going to try and do some lighter meals this weekend and into next week, as we have eaten our own weight in cheese/cake/pudding/chocolate :D and both feel the need for fresh, healthy food!

Not much else to report - I'll do an end-of-year report at the weekend :)

Meh, not in such a good mood now :( half of our fence at the back has blown down - we have a lot of fence in our garden so it won't be a cheap fix :( stupid wind. It was a bit wobbly anyway, as it all needs replacing, but it'll have to be sooner than planned :(

That is very true - I guess that's what an emergency fund is for! We're going to wait and see if any other bits go before we price up fence panels and whatnot.

Just a bit annoying, that's all.

  • Hi SF, i understand your frustration - one of those life getting in the way things - wise words from beanie though :)

Thank you for letting me know about the savings - I've joined the thread - itching to start now but need to wait til next week :rotfl::rotfl: i have plans though!! :T

Lovely to hear you had a nice xmas - this year i really stressed the need for practical gifts :o - it has saved us money and made it easier to put everything away ;) :T

I see you're thinking of meal planning - i've started a plan on my thread for the same thing :rotfl: Alot of mine is aimed at running the freezer down but i'm open to suggestion - and i'm alarmed at how stodgy alot of my meals are - i am sure i don't usually eat all that

Has hubby got the weekend off now ? I was in work today too and it was rotten - as was the 4 hour commute :(

Hope you have a good weekend and that the fence isn't too expensive xx

I think the fence will cost us about £500 as it's a large section and it's all ruined - bah. DH works on Saturdays, so we'll have a relaxing evening and not do very much.

Nothing much to report - I need to write a shopping list and go to Mr Ms, but I've got a severe case of can't be bothered-itus today :o

I've been to see my grandparents today, which was nice :) my grandma is definitely slowly down, which is sad to see :( she slept most of the time I was there :( but, she appreciated me going. They live about 90 minutes drive away, and I should make more of an effort to go and see them :o

I've also been to Mr Ms, but only to get food for the next few days, so I'll need to go back later in the week. It was insanely busy there today, and I couldn't be bothered with people and their trolleys  :o so did a dash round and finished pretty quickly.

I've been thinking about 2014 goals today as well and where I'd like to see us in a years time. I'm very much looking forward to 2014 :)

It's good that you went to see your Grandparents SF, I also feel guilty about not seeing mine that often.

Mine are lovely, but as 'step Grandparents', I don't seem to feel as close to them as I did my maternal Grandparents. Which is completely unfair, but our brains have funny ways of working, don't they?

    Any goals to share? :)

I don't see them often and probably make more of an effort :o time during the term always seems to fly by without me realising.

I know completely what you mean.

I'm pondering goals for 2014 - will probably share them tomorrow :)

You're not that much older than me ;) and I really should see them more often. I have only ever known one set of my grandparents, and as they get older and frailer, I should go more often.

In fact, I'm going to make that a promise to them in 2014 (I feel a bit emotional saying that :o ).
