I've been pondering whether to try and do a monthly meal plan rather than weekly, to try and get us out of the rut of eating the same things. Does anyone do this? Is it helpful? Although then you can't plan for things that are on often... hmm.
I don't do this, but do have a (hopefully) helpful suggestion. How about writing 52 weekly meal plans divided into 4 blocks of 13 (for each of the seasons, obviously don't write them all at once)? That way you could select a random meal plan each week, increasing perceived variety/element of surprise, while knowing that all of the meals on your plans are vaguely nutritious and can be made from good value, seasonal ingredients?0 -

Hi SlowlyFading, I've literally just finished the meal plan for January. I find it saves a fortune and nothing gets wasted. Doesn't mean we don't go off piste occasionally and if social plans change, the menu changes. I can grab HM dishes out of the freezer and know I, or Mr T, don't need to be thinking of what to cook.
I use a couple of cookery books a month for inspiration - sometimes more - January it's Slimming World of Flavours and HFW Everyday
Have a lovely Christmas

Though I'm not intending on meal planning, just asking everyone on here to post theirs and save me the research :rotfl:.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I'm up early on my first day off, because the V!rgin Medi@ people are coming to look at the phone as it's not working. They're here between 8am and 12noon - what's the betting they turn up at 11:55am?! Anyway, just sat having a cuppa
Today's plans include braving the town - looked through the presents under the tree yesterday (shh!) and DH has got me more than I've got himso I'm going to go and get him just a little extra something. Not quite figured out what that will be yet though.....!
We're traveling tonight, once DH has come home from work, so I have lots of things to sort out todaybut, for now, chilling on the sofa seems to be the right thing to do

Oh my goodness me, the weather is awful!
V!rgin medi@ man came at 11:07am, fixed in less than 5 minutes :j :j so I then ventured into town. I got absolutely drenched in about 2 minutes, couldn't use an umbrella because the winds were too strong, and my feet were soaked right throughso I hurried round as fast as I could and came home. It's awful! Not looking forward to driving later
Now sat cuddling one of the cats, debating whether to put the heating on as it's blooming cold in the house, but now I probably shouldn't. I've got candles lit in the front room to make it seem more cosy, and I think I'm going to go and make a hot water bottle to keep me warm.
Be careful if you're going out today, it's not great outside.Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Happy holidays SF, I hope you have gotten into the swing of relaxing?
While I feel a bit like a piggy, I have at least committed to starting Couch to 5k again in the new year (aiming for a half marathon in June if I manage to get a place).
Have a great day.0
