My interest rate is 0.18 above BOE ( old mortgage ) so I pay 0.68%
So in my case it is better to save . If you are paying above 3% you are probably better overpaying"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
I think it's 3.89% so we're overpaying
but, we are saving (emergency fund) at the same time

well if you are linked to the BOE rate and it is low ,is it better to save than overpay .

Thanks for that :T - I've been feeling really guilty about not overpaying more (only managed 1 in the last year:o but it was just over a months' payment) - have been trying to pay off last bit of debt & get some savings in hand. My rate is 2.49% so I'm feeling a bit better about trying to get savings up and running now (have just managed to find an ISA paying 3.10%):)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
