Tuesday, July 5th.
DS has been ill for the past few days with a temperature and it means that his sleep pattern has totally gone out of the window. We're existing on very little sleep and the whole household is absolutely shattered. I'm hoping that'll get back to some sense of normality soon; he's not a great sleeper but he's up crying for hours on a night at the moment
Positive things today:- NSD
- Account tidy of £1.40 transferred to savings
- Received some dividends today
- Had a fry up for tea!

Thursday, July 7th.
DS is finally seeming to be better, which is a relief. I had the HV pop in this morning as I sent an sos text to her yesterday in despair as we were all in a bit of a sleep deprived state and didn't know what to do. This evening, I've done which I never said I would, but I tried the controlled crying technique. So, I went in for two minutes, then left for two minutes, then back in for two minutes, and so on. It only took DS 20 minutes to go to sleep! Which is a miracle and that never happens. Now, I'm not a fan of leaving him to cry but two minutes isn't long and he's getting reassurance that I've not just left him to it. I'm hoping that bed time gets a little less stressful soon as it isn't relaxing for any of us, plus DS is getting so overtired which makes things worse.
Popped into town today and bought myself a new top for work plus another summer top for myself. I can't remember the last time I bought myself any clothes, and what was even better was that I didn't think I looked too bad in the mirror! This slimming world malarky must be working
Positive things today:- Transferred £350 into s&s isa today.
- Topped up my holding in m&s to 100 shares.
- Had a smiley, happy DS all day
- He's 11 months old today!

I did the controlled crying in desperation as well SF and it worked really well. Not nice at the time but a fractious child (and parents!!!!) because of lack of sleep is not nice either. Here's hoping it continues to work well.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

What is even more amazing, is that DS slept from 9pm til 7:20am without waking :j :j :j :shocked::shocked::shocked: He's NEVER done that before, ever. Now, I didn't enjoy doing the controlled crying but I'm hoping that it means he'll learn to self settle quickly and, as he got more sleep last night, he's in a great mood today :TBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
