well if you are linked to the BOE rate and it is low ,is it better to save than overpay .
My interest rate is 0.18 above BOE ( old mortgage ) so I pay 0.68% ;)
So in my case it is better to save . If you are paying above 3% you are probably better overpaying

I think it's 3.89% so we're overpaying :D but, we are saving (emergency fund) at the same time :)

    It's all about balance!

Thanks for that :T - I've been feeling really guilty about not overpaying more (only managed 1 in the last year:o but it was just over a months' payment) - have been trying to pay off last bit of debt & get some savings in hand. My rate is 2.49% so I'm feeling a bit better about trying to get savings up and running now (have just managed to find an ISA paying 3.10%):)

We didn't get - again! Family popped round and were here quite a while, so by the time they'd left, the shops had shut. Oh well :)
