Well... My telephone is playing up and despite hoarding wires, I have no telephone ones!

Not done much hoarding clearing but have been doing jobs Eg. The hedge and I took the trimmings with the old parasol base from back yard that has been sat there a year to the tip straight away.

Also done my 3 brownie/rainbow badges sewn on for today. Think they have been multiplying in the dish!

Combed some of dd2s hair. It is Afro and has become so matted that I am having to do in chunks as it hurts her.

I have promised myself that I will do one job from my list and the above two each day this half term.

Have borrowed sisters drill etc to put shelves up to clear the stuff by my bed.

Found out that sky go can't be connected from iPad to other tv but I player can so have done this as well as put some of wires together in other room.

On a high today so going for it whilst I'm in the mood!

  • Ah, do you get used to there not being carp everywhere and that becomes normal, rather than the blanket of stuff that is so familiar and covers over the other things you are trying not to think about???

    Yes.

    It's wonderful.

For many, many years now I've been getting bullied and tormented by Justin Case

Justin Case is a pain in the neck.

I will banish him from my life, I will !

This morning I went through the drawer of my bedside table.

This tends to be a place for Special Things, kept for years, so it badly needed a good going through.

I was quite sucessful - got rid of a load of papers relating to when I first started my previous job (1981) plus many years payslips, very old tax paperwork, even old birthday cards!

So things went back in the drawer though, as they were too Special to let go. A little brochure for a pub that I went to on my first date with my husband (1979) plus letters he wrote to me when we were going out together.

Oh, I'm also letting go of some autographed photos of some very minor celebs, might be saleable on eBay, just for kitsch value.

Over all I halved the contents of the drawer, so I felt it was a good result.

Yes sj that Justin Case gets into your head doesn't he?

I've been keeping a box of cutlery for him despite having far too much in my drawer already. Well it's going so he'll have to make do without should he turn up!!

12 months is a mere moment. I have a nearly finished baby cardigan that I started knitting for my youngest daughter (who is 21 this year!!) never quite finished it before she wouldn't fit in it!. Did some more when was pregnant with youngest DS (now 14!!) but didn't quite make it! Almost completed it for my grandson (just turned 5!). Just needs the buttons sewing on now so am awaiting next grandchild.... having now confessed this I feel I should let go of the nice big stash of baby wool I have in my ottoman....

Another person with empty space panic here! OH loves them, I can't keep them clear for anything. He's started to accept this, so will clear a space and then put one large item in its place so I feel ok about it, but he can still envisage the space empty as it's only one item in the space! Stops me filling stuff up before we've had time to see if something actually NEEDS to be in that place too - normally by the time we've found the item that should go in the empty space, I've filled it with rubbish.

Done nothing today, was really motivated Sunday, but today the stuff being out (instead of against the walls, stuffed on to shelves and crammed into boxes), just feels really intimidating and I want to cry. Should have done so many things, intended to do so many things, but did nothing :( Can't even take the two bin bags to the bin as ours is full and the dump is closed now. Stuck.

I'm finding my empty spaces are disappearing fast... As more space to park the pram etc as dd2 plays mums and dads with dolls!

Roll on end of half term!

:D Poor lad. I actually encountered a Robin Hood in RL. Makes you want to ask for their parents' phone numbers so's you could call them up and ask WHAT-WERE-YOU-THINKING ?!
