ThisYear - were you in "my" Homebase? It would have been quite a nice browse except for all the couples having aggressive conversations under their breath, left me puzzled why they go there when they could spend time apart with one at home and one getting the DIY bits and save the aggro

that puzzles me too. Or, more annoying, when a couple begin an argument in the supermarket and one of them walks off. How are you meant to have a good nose at their fight when they don't fight?

And people who take their children to the supermarket to shout at them. Can't figure that one out either. Two adults, either one stay home with the children (who don't want to be there anyway) or if you must both go then one adult could stay in the car while the other one shops. Easy. Next!?

He had a recorded cry which was hard to decipher but could have been AnyOldIron

According to my DD (and her friends) it was probably "meow". They seem to communicate with each other by saying that. When you answer the phone and someone meows at you it's odd. The first time. After that it's downright annoying.

Oddly enough we mentioned the rag and bone man last night. OH was telling me about his saturday job in a butchers. I didn't really want the details tbh it's one of those things that I don't need or want to know.

Loads of things selling on ebay. Lots of packing!

Hi all... Been missing in action for a while as had tons going on with work. Have been lurking when I could to pick up tips.

half term so my to do list is ready and I have already started on it. I find I work more systematically with a list and enjoy seeing things crossed off!

After church yesterday I told the girls we would go to the Lego discovery and sort our merlin passes out if they tidied their rooms. Must have tired them as they are still in bed asleep!

Today is clothes and shoes in wardrobe day and then taking to cash for clothing. I would prob get more on eBay but it means them lying around for another few days then parcelling up. A lot are pass me downs anyway so we have had good wear out of them! I'm the worse as I have a box of small clothes that wait for that magical day when I've lost a few stone...

Off for breaky now and then will do my twenty mins in the front room that seems to have become a dumping ground.

Still debating whether to do a car boot on weds as stall only £3 and it should clear some stuff. It's the weather forecast that I've not yet seen that is holding me back as I always used to have a weds stall but had to give up when went full time again.
Don’t put it down - put it away!

Fairly good day de-cluttering. I've been putting anything remotely sellable on ebay for 99p, got them all in a box so once they end I'll either pack them off or take them to the CS. Big box of old keyboards was returned under the bed in case we need them. :wall:

    We all have laptops.

Yes, I have a 'just in case' keyboard too !

I did have two - I won a keyboard in a raffle which I eBayed. But in the dreaded loft I have our old keyboard and various other old computer peripherals.

None of these are actually needed - we have a laptop and an iPad.

I will get round to getting rid of them, but there's other de-cluttering projects which I really want to get done first.

Precious little de-cluttering over the weekend, but I'm currently surrounded by eBay parcels which I'll take down the post office shortly. It's a lovely afternoon, so I'm looking forward to the walk. I only get the car our for the post office run in cases of dire necessity - e.g. very heavy rain or very heavy parcels!

I don't get that one either. When me and my husband were dating before we were married, we swore if we ever had kids that we wouldn't inflict the saturday morning weekly shop on them. Now we have a system where we take it in turns - one of us does the shopping while the other stays at home and plays with DD (who is 2). She loves the supermarket so on occasion I pop in with her to get something quickly, but never for a full shop. It's not fair on anybody ;)

I'm still doing the 40 bags 40 days challenge, and really enjoying it which is weird. So far I've done:

Day 1 - Small carrier full of general rubbish
Day 2 - Mid-sized carrier with clothes for CS
Day 3 - Large bag of old baby clothes for upcoming sale
Day 4 - Mid-sized carrier of old magazines/paper for recycling

Today is Day 5 so I'm looking for what to declutter next! :D

Gutted that my dining table set didn't sell despite 4 watchers on eBay (WHY!!!!) so will have to have a rethink about how to get rid of it. Dumping or donating not an option as we need the cash for a new one. Any ideas?

No ideas - sorry. I have a dining table and chairs that I will be getting rid of too.

Sometimes people watch an item as they have something similar and are seeing if it's worth selling. Or they're intending to buy but missed the end of the auction.

    Try Vivastreet or Gumtree.

DS had success selling on Gumtree, for large objects he felt it was much better than EB.

I'm ahead on the bag- a- day thing - after the socks and books yesterday, DS took a spare brand new ironing board over to DD's today, as hers had broken. That's got to equal a bag. Plus a large bag of packaging went in for recycling.

This board was bought for a fantasy version of me who was going to quietly iron in the bedroom (to save taking clothes up and down stairs continually from doing the ironing in the lounge.)

I hate ironing in the bedroom, I discovered.
Hell of a rush to get downstairs to answer the inevitable callers, and I don't do rush.
I can't play CDs rather than listen to the radio, it's a trek to get a coffee or tea ....

I'm doing little bits as I go about the day. An expired card or leaflet here or there. Recycling etc.
