What mixing bowl do you use?

I have a ridiculously large hard plastic pink jug similar to this one that I bought in TK Maxx last year for less than £5. O/H laughed at my purchase at the time but its been brilliant. The handle is great when you want to beat/whisk up mixture and it has a rubber ring on the base to stop it from slipping on the work surface.
If you have a TK Maxx locally they do have quite a few kitchen bargains and its definitely worth a look.“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

For bulk days, try simply using a washing up bowl. Large, light, cheap and practically unbreakable.0

I discovered this works well too last week. DD13 put 4 times too much salt in our choc muffin mix  I had to quadruple the quantities and the washing up bowl was the only thing big enough. I did wonder why I had not thought of using it before for bread etc.:rolleyes:0 -
I have a really huge one that I've used for baking etc. It's from Wilko's and it's only cheap clear-ish plastic, but it was 99p and it does the job. and if I drop it... no worries, 'cos it's plastic and won't break!0

I have pyrex and ceramic, but everytime I just use the giant metal one my bother gave me as an Xmas present a few years ago (I can recall not being impressed with such a present) or just a plastic one (from the picnic collection available at Tesco every spring/summer).
....If I'm not using the Kenwood of course:wall:0 -
Thank you everyone. That was very, very helpful. LOVING the pink one! The one in Lewis' looks like the Mason Cash ones but is lighter than I remember the schools ones being. With a toddler usually 'helping' I want a pretty unbreakable one though so I think it's a toss up between a washing up bowl (What a great idea!) and treating myself to the huge polypropylene one. Going past asda next week so if I can wait that long I may have a look in there first though. Wilkos didn't have anything when I tried there the other day unfortunately.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

Tk Maxx is always worth a shufty for brand name kitchenalia. I have quite often seen the big old fashioned mixing bowls turn up at my local market and charity shops too.Twins, twice the laughs, twice the fun, twice the mess!:j:j0

Hi, I have Mason Cash, too. I have a huge one that I use for batch cooking, and a smaller one that gets used loads.
I find plastic scratches too easily, which then becomes difficult to wash and unhygenic.
Have a look in charity shops - I was in one last week and saw a pair almost identical to mine for £10 the pair - bargain!

In the days when I did lots of baking I had a small round washing up bowl kept just for this purpose.... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
