Really messed up...wrong month booking with Ryanair

  • I just got a reply from Ryanair linking to a page to change bookings - It doesn't work..

    https://www.bookryanair.com/SkySales/FRRetrieveBooking.aspx?culture=en-gb&lc=en-gb

I opened it in Internet Explorer and Google Chrome - No images and the origin and destination dropdown boxes don't show any countries..

I can't get the link to work, but from the address it is just going to take you to the manage my booking screens - you'll still have to pay for the change. :o
  • I guess I have some flights for someone that wants them then :(

Actually..there will probably be a charge to change the names too.

I don't know why there is even a charge for this..it takes a few minutes to simply change either dates or names :( Such a waste of much needed money

There is a charge to change names also.

The reason for the high charge is to stop people buying them to sell on at a profit.

You were asked to check all the details of your booking before going ahead with it and you didn't There's a reason why Ryanair do that and this is it.

You made a mistake. It can't be rectified.Learn from it and move on.Otherwise it's going to continue to bug you and you'll begin to sound like a bit of a whiner .

Other people ( not me or Bob the Saver ) have far worse Ryanair horror stories and a lot of those are self-inflicted too.

    just RING them
  • Hi John,

You don't say where these flights are from but I'm guessing you're trying to unload returns from Frankfurt to Dublin which presumably means you've gone ahead and re-booked your return flights.

The chances of someone on a UK-based forum only wanting to travel one-way between Frankfurt and Dublin are slim and they could probably do it much cheaper than changing names on your tickets anway.

Give it up feller, you're wasting your time.

On Radio 4's Money Box programme today, there was a woman telling how she'd inadvertantly booked the wrong year for her flight. Moneybox said that, unfortunately, there's no right to a refund, but worth pleading with the company concerned to see if they're sympathetic.

You can 'listen again' to this programme on I player. May be of some help!

It's unfortunate that it was a February/March mix up, and other consecutive months and you might have been alerted to the change of day of the week.

As others have said, the only way you stand any chance of a free or cheap change is to ring them, using the online facility will automatically apply charges whereas talking nicely to a symapthetic real person may do the trick.

Sorry Tom The Great, but I am not whining, I am just hoping for some help.

I had to save money to even afford this and we are staying in hostels when we get there.

    AMAZING, thank you!

    I really hope so..
I have sent emails through their online support and through at least 5 email addresses of people from Ryanair and I haven't heard back from anyone (I even sent my email their their online customer service twice because I didn't receive any notification of anything being received.

The others said they were out of office...

Thank you all so much for helping, I really appreciate it :)
