Hi guys! :) I've been pointed in the direction of this thread by ferf1223 as I'm looking for cheap flights to LV, can't believe how much they've shot up since last time we went! So I've now subbed to this thread and will be following it with interest as we are are thinking of going sometime soon for a belated honeymoon.

We have been 4 times before, first 2 times we stayed at the Stratasphere, and the second two at the Aladdin hotel, now Planet Hollywood of course, and that's where we're looking to stay again.

I saw someone mentioned Delta Airlines, I'm sure we've flew with them before, I'll check them out! :)

ETA: I love reading everyone's Vegas stories! I bet it's changed so much in the last 7 years since we were last there!

    Now most on here will advocate DIY over package but I received this today which may interest some;

LHR/LAS rtn, 4 nights (depart betwen Nov 28th and Dec 5th) stay at Luxor (room type not specified) for £615 per person, which, without doing any comparisons seems a good price to me on the face of it.

Delta mentioned only for booking purposes, and potential snaffoo on prices......they now codeshare Virgin flights, so LGW to LAS direct on Delta is a Virgin plane.

Delta planes do not compare to Virgin planes IMHO......the business class coffins are awful for an overnight flight.

Just been reading page 1 and wondered if anyone knows anything more about the review of the MAN-LAS route??

(nb. Virgin flights from Manchester are suspended 27 Oct 2013 - 27 Mar 2014, during which time the route will be reviewed, and may not be continued)

Currently we can book Virgin flights for May 2014 through Delta for £611.00 which seems a decent price for direct, I was wondering what would happen if the route was cancelled - would they cancel our flight with notice or would they been obliged to get us there via Gatwick and get us to Gatwick?? The regulations on this are confusing!!
If we wait to see what happens then the Thomas Cook flight may be a lot more expensive than if we booked it now.

I notice others seem to have booked with Virgin for 2014, are you worried??

Can anyone tell me if the deluxe suites at Vdara can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children? I was looking to book but only comes up with the option of king bed and I wasn't going to include the kids on the booking!

Sorry, I can't answer your question but we always fly Man-Las with Virgin, one for us to watch. Does anyone know where this info came from so I can keep an eye on it.

ETA: Just had a look on V Flyer, it looks like it could just be seasonal thing - hope so.

I quite like the sound of this deal. I've never used travelzoo before or been in a Vegas nightclub, Could anyone advise me/give me a shove!

I use travelzoo a lot - it's great and really easy. Create account, buy, print voucher and take with you (or book ahead depending on the specific conditions of the offer)

As for Lily I've not been. But venues like this will be very different depending on when you go - turn up at opening time on a Thursday and it's likely to be relaxed and quiet.
Rock up at 11pm on a Saturday and it'll likely not be so quiet.

depends what you're used to and how intimate you want to be! deluxe suites are the entry-level room at vdara, and bigger than most entry-level rooms at other hotels.

deluxe suites can be 1 of 2 layouts:
    - some have the "two rooms" (bedroom and lounge)
    - some are just "one room", which might be a bit cramped?

i don't know what the rollout beds are like there.

the next suite up, the vdara suite, all have a separate lounge area, so that would give you a bit more space (like having two rooms).

So much choice even sugar free cheesecake.

great trip report! Really enjoyed reading and such great wins - Alan's progressive - how exciting. Sounds like a great trip all around.

but we don't mention the sugar-free dessert section at buffets around here...except in the context 'what is the point of the sugar-free desserts at buffets?' ;)

    Thanks very much for posting.
