Working Tax - Not Getting My Hours At Work
Comments
-
Ive told them my hours have changed, and im currently in the 4 week run on period...
They can't demand it all back at once if its not there, we're already paying off a housing benefit overpayment due to a clerical error of over £2000
(HB put my income as £4 per week instead of £144 for over a year, then funnily enough forgot to notify me until just after the period they allow backdating and appeals, gotta love those clerical errors)
It is as much your responsibility to check it is correct as it is theirs to get it right.
It depends on your specific financial position as to how much they can take off you or demand of you, you might get upto 2 years to pay off the overpayment.
Hopefully there won't be one for WTC.I have numerous qualifications in Business and Finance, Accountancy, Health and Safety and am now studying Law.
Don't rely on anything I write as it may be wrong!!!0 -

Why feel guilty wen the stinkin system is punishin you for trying to work at the bottm of the pile while the fatcats gettin fatter at the top.
Sounds like a plan, however I think Universal Credit is going to start to make it a whole lot tougher. Welcome to Victorian Britain, assuming we don't have mass civil unrest before we get there!!!I have numerous qualifications in Business and Finance, Accountancy, Health and Safety and am now studying Law.

They won't demand it back at once, unless you come off tax credits altogether. They will take 25% from your CTC.

I'm sorry, but get off your high horse...
I've worked there steadily for 3 years, and we wanted another child. Is that any of your concern? To imply we did so for monetary game is despicable.
Seriously, the company at work cuts our hours and all of a sudden i'm a jobcentre dosser scrounging off the state?0 -
Looking further into MissPiggy's previous posts, and it might be she wasn't being sarcastic, but merely showing the after effects of breeding in the same gene pool0

I'm not sure she could claim IS as we are a couple living together, and JSA would be out of the question due to the pregnancy...0 -
To be fair, you decided to have another child even though your hours, even as they were then, were certainly not enough to support your family. The 'we wanted a child' is not ok. Many people want more children, if you can't afford them, don't have them, especially when you first is still very young.0

My hours changed last month, my partner is 4 months pregnant, we were told our hours would be INCREASED over xmas, not decreased. To be fair.0

Yes, couples can claim IS. The partner can work up to 24 hours, providing the other person falls into one of the categories of being unavailable for work.
If your partner is classed as being available for work, then JSA is the right thing to claim even if she is pregnant.
Otherwise, you will have to manage on wages and CTC.
