evening ladies
welcome to all our lovely newbies :hello:
Maddiemay - I'm glad to hear things are improving for your brother
I have a few INS to fess up to (well 12 to be exact) Despite telling myself I was buying nothing in the sales I ended up buying one of the Gok sets that had been reduced so that's 6 pots/tubes of various types of goo added to the stash
I also succumbed to a hypnose mascara set which also came with a black eyeliner and a mini eye makeup remover
Also bought superdrug hot cloth radiance cleanser and moisturiser as they were on offer.
Finally have to confess to buying a new bottle of L'occitane conditioner, this wasn't a sale item but I absolutely love it.
Not one of my INS was necessary, they were all wants not needs:o:o:o (mentally writes out 'must try harder' 100 times)
On the plus side I am now day 14 without a cigarette.
happy pampering, xo0 -

If it's easier, you can pause your DD payments for 3 or 6 months and then they restart automatically after that time is up. I had a stockpile of daily disposables and they actually told me about this service. I think it helps them because you're still on the same period of subscription. Also, I think that might mean you'd still qualify for the full check up stuff, but I'd check to be sure.
If the boxes are unopened you can take them back for a credit/refund instead and not mess up your auto delivery at all.
Yeah, I'm that customer :rotfl:0 -
I forgot to mention Maddiemay's brother. Really good news, that I so hope continues..
As some of you know, I work from home, I used to work in the community too but I don't at the moment.
I had a bit of a lightbulb moment with this indoors lifestyle and toiletries. Some days (mostly in winter) I don't go out, I keep the house fairly cool so I never get hot and bothered.
I was showering some mornings, realising I was just washing off the previous day's moisturiser, as well as freshening up my face /important little places. I didn't feel cleaner, I just felt as if I'd scrubbed off body lotion which I would now have to re-apply. Plus my anti-persp. said it works for 48 hours, but never got a chance to prove it.
So I've switched from daily showers to every other day.
I definitely feel I need one if I go on public transport (despite no bare skin being exposed apart from my face!) and also if I ride my trike. What with cutting showers and using the shower timer, the fuel bills should benefit.
I'm using wipes to keep my feet sweet; like my face they MUST have moisturiser daily. So with half the number of showers shower gel and moisturiser is going to last a lot longer, during the winter and spring, at least.
I'm of the generation that was brought up to 'top and tail' 2 x daily, with a foot bath and hair wash 2 x a week and a full bath once a week. Even in high summer (well-named!).
I don't think I had a shower, apart from at the swimming pool and at hotels, until I went to live in Germany aged 19. Since then, I've revelled in daily showers for many years and when I was more active, as a young mum and childminder, I definitely needed them too.
A 'clean', sedentary job makes daily top to toe scrubbing unnecessary now.
Am I alone in this chain of thought?!Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
I have a UU and a TA and a splutterer.
UU - Clarins Daily Energizer Lotion. WBA, this moisturiser is lovely and fresh and gives me a nice finish before makeup. Per ml it is expensive though I think it's worth it. This will be replaced once I finish my Eurcerin moisturiser hopefully.
TA - L'Oreal Contour Kohl eyeliner in black. WNBA. Much better black e/l exist and this one had a really naff quality outer. It chipped and looked gross, and the lid has basically shattered, hence the TA!
I have a hand cream spluttering, hope to be able to add that tomorrow.0 -

Am I alone in this chain of thought?!
Nope. I agree with you; if I've got sweaty/dirty in the day I'll shower, but really what are you washing off from that day otherwise? I'm a student but I've been signed off uni sick from March until now. What would I have come into contact with that required a full scouring every 24 hours?
Dermatologists seem worried about over stripping of skin, and I'd rather my sebaceous gland soften my skin than a tub of goo.
Hence the stash
ETA: Sorry for so many posts almost in a row!0 -
I really like Trevor Sorbie Beautiful Volume Volume Booster which is a pump action type spray and doesn't leave my hair at all sticky or crispy HTH
Thanks emsjune, I will have a look for that next time I am in boots xDebt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I don't have many in the way of sputterers, should have a few more UUs by the end of the month but it will be slow going over the next two weeks. I have a few mini products lined up in order to keep the rate going.
Sharalee If you were counting before New Year count it in then, if you're only counting now, count it now. Whichever means the purchases are kept in the foremost of your mind to stop you purchasing any unnecessary toiletries.
Dolly84 I use Umberto Gianini blow dry spray. I only have a mini bottle of this but it has lasted ages. No crispiness and I use it in conjunction with tresemme's argan oil glossing spray when I blow dry on a large round brush. it holds my style well without the need for hair spray and holds volume in my fine hair for two days after blow drying.
I have just double cleansed my face with my no7 brightening hot cloth cleanser and a muslin cloth. I often find I still have mascara coming off with the first cleanse so thought I would give this a go. After only one occasion my skin is so soft I could not believe! Followed it up with aromatherapy associates rose radiance serum, simple soothing eye balm and avene rich skin recovery cream. Soft and my skin tone looks good and fresh.
Thanks rougey - I will look up the UG volume spray too. Your cleansing routine sounds really nice.
I am feeling sorry for myself today, I started with a cold at 1.30pm yesterday afternoon, I can be that precise as I had just pulled into Sainsburys carpark when I could feel the symptoms starting. Can't believe how quickly it has turned into a full blown cold. I dug out another mini bottle of MB Warming Eucalyptus shower gel for this morning to help ease the sinuses.
And - I don't shower everyday either, I have a bath on Sunday and Wednesday nights and on Monday and Thursday I don't bother with a shower.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

One further UU today
50ml sanctuary body scrub. WNBA. I was swayed into buying a small sanctuary set in boots 50% as LOADS of folk were telling me it was great, well, I'm totally unimpressed by it!
