I have bt which cost around £41.94 every month for my phone line and broadband and before you accuse me, I have broadband to apply for Jobs
Your broadband and phone line costs are high. Shop around. I get my broadband and phone for £16.35 a month total. If you got to the debtfree board, they will tell you about cheaper deals than that.
You can use the library internet access for free plus they will have all the daily newspapers.RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

why do you need a calculator for UC if you are an advisor? You will be advising on current entitlements, not what may or may not happen in the future.0 -
Excuse me but you don't know anything about me, I am on jsa because there is no jobs out there at the moment, I apply for 5 - 6 Jobs a day, I am no sky work.
I hate been on JSA, I would love for you to be in my situation and if you get your housing benefit cut, how would you cope if you end up can't afford your rent and end up homeless? You wouldn't like it would you?
If you was my advicer at the Jobcentre I would show you lots of proof of Jobs I have applyed and I will show you all my application on my Universal Jobmatch.
I am no scrounger, I am on jsa to get help with bills that is all.
Oh btw you say I am enjoying life? well first of all I can't afford sky, and I am lucky to get a top up every now and again.
I have bt which cost around £41.94 every month for my phone line and broadband and before you accuse me, I have broadband to apply for Jobs because from next year when this universal credit comes into force people need internet to create a universal jobmatch account and if they can't then they will get sanctioned and I have also heard people need to do Jobsearch for 35 hours.
Also I don't smoke, I don't drink and I have no aerial in my flat at the moment so If I am enjoying life on JSA like you stated In my situation then you are so wrong.
If you are truely applying for six jobs a day then you're doing something wrong or applying for unsuitable jobs. Maybe you should ask your adviser for advice."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
What messed up a lot of work opportunities around where I live is Workfare. Thank goodness Sainsburys have now dropped out - Morrisons here never participated, neither did Waitrose, to their credit (I hate slave labour. The NMW should mean just that, i.e. the minimum for all people who work). Subway, Tesco and Asda are all still part of the workfare scheme.
I'm sure there are people who can't be bothered to work, but it's probably only a very small percentage of those on the dole. No one in their right mind would want to live on the dole for any length of time.0 -
The benefit cap was on track, until recently, to be introduced nationally in April 2013 and will apply to all claimants, not just new claims, with some exemptions.
That date has now been confirmed for a roll-out starting in four boroughs of London, and rolled-out across all of London by September 2013. The date for national implementation is soon to be confirmed.
Your post is severely lacking any facts.
So there is no benefit cap then?... Can't apply to london since simply the rent elements would exceed £26k... the date for full implementation is soon to be confirmed?... you mean not confirmed at all after the failure of the trial, if it does not fail, i'd say after Sept 13 will most likely be at least a year away then.0 -

Morrisons are one of the worst for subsidising the business by state support, over 40% of their work force are on so called "apprenticeships"0 -

The cap was due to be implemented nationally in April 2013 until very recently, within the last week. It is now being rolled-out from April 2013 starting in London.
"The benefit cap will be implemented from April 2013, starting in four local authorities in London – Bromley, Croydon, Enfield and Haringey. These were chosen as London has the highest percentage of potential benefit cap claimants and a diverse cross section of residents. This will be a phased roll-out with the remaining local authorities implementing the cap by the end September 2013. The precise date at which this change will be rolled out nationally will be agreed in the New Year."

Possibly around a year for those outside London, starting in around 12 weeks time for many claimants living in London.0 -

I can only speak for our local branches, who made a point of putting notices up in their stores that they did not participate in the Workfare programme, presumably because of the impact on their business adverse publicity about their stores in North Wales use of Workfare labourers was having on Scottish consumers.
The response up here towards participants of the Workfare programme from consumers has been savage. People have even demonstrated against British Heart Foundation's use of Workfare labourers up here. I would be surprised if Argos, another enthusiastic user of workfare people, stays afloat, such is the consumer reaction against them. And Poundland are offering £1 off a £10 spend, presumably to offest their flagging sales due to participating in Workfare.0 -

Hi Sammyjammy,
What is wrong with 6 jobs a day? at least I am applying for Jobs, Sometimes I apply for about 9 or 10 at the most if they loads of Jobs to apply for, I am looking at Packer, Retail and Warehouse in the north west region in (Burnley, Nelson, Bacup, Manchester ete) and they hasn't been a lot of Jobs to apply for the last few weeks due to christmas holiday's.
However some Jobs have been posted on universal Jobmatch today and I have applyed for 7
I also look on fish4jobs, Monster, Indeed ete, I am trying my best to get back into work as been on the dole is horrible0 -
