Hi I have read your replyes and I am so worried, so I take it I will be affected by the housing benefit cut next year then since I am under 35 as I am only 26 but what I am confused about is why will I be affected when my flat is not private rented, its from a housing association.0

Time to stop being picky and going for every job even two or three if it means you want a better standard of living.
If you can't get a job then re train or get on as man free courses to open your options.
Not a pop at you but I just find it amazing at 26 you have such a negative outlook.
On your bike was a famous saying in the 80s ... May I suggest similar ?"Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain."
''Money can't buy you happiness but it does bring you a more pleasant form of misery.''0 -
The shared room rate for under 35 only applies to Local Housing Allowance which is for private rents. In a Housing Association flat you'll still get housing benefit to cover the rent.0

I'm surprised there isn't a penalty for that yet!!!I have numerous qualifications in Business and Finance, Accountancy, Health and Safety and am now studying Law.
Don't rely on anything I write as it may be wrong!!!0 -

Hi there,
No need to have a go at me and I apply for jobs 5 - 6 Jobs a day and I never hear anything back from the employers but I still keep applying for Jobs as I don't want to be on the dole all my life.
I wish People would stop picking on people who are on Jobseekers ete as I have been reading on digitalspy forums as been on the dole is not a lifestyle choice, its to help with bills like gas, electric, water ete until you get into work.
I am not a scrounger, I am a honest Jobseeker who always applyes for Jobs, reason why I am worried about housing benefit is because I don't want to be end up Homeless and I am sure you don't want to as well (if your in people situation like me and others worried about housing benefit then you will understand).0 -

thats the issue after travel costs, many jobs round here means you have less money in your pocket after working.0 -
Does anyone actually think this UC is actually going to come in and be as bad as everyone says? Sounds a bit scaremongery. I know 2 people who work in benefit offices and one of them is quite high up and neither of them have been trained in UC or have any idea of anything thats set in stone. It's only 3 months away and people doing the job dont know anything.0

Hey everyone,
I have already posted this on another fourm and Just want to see your views on this on here.
Right first of all I am sorry if this is not in the right forum
We all know that from next year they will be some huge changes from 2013 to benefits and here are a few things that will change:
1) Council Tax - It's been reported that people who are on JSA Will need to pay they tax out of they JSA, How on earth people going to survive regarding this? it's really stupid and I doubt any people will be able to afford food after they paid all the outgoings
2) Housing Benefit - I read somewhere that people under 25 will get they housing benefit cut, is this true? and also they will need to pay part rent if they got a spare bedroom that they don't use (This doesn't apply to me as I am 26 and I only live in a 1 bedroom flat)
3) Universal Credit - It's going to replace some benefits like: Jobseekers, Income Employment and Support Allowance, Child Tax Credits, Working Tax Credits and Housing Benefit.
4) Jobseekers - People who don't follow the JCP advicer and don't apply for all the Jobs they givin they could be tougher sanctions even up to 3 years!
I think that is it or have I missed anything?
To be honest I am dredding going into the new year, I can tell you now 2013 Is going to be a bleak and horrible year
I am assuming you are a single Male ? At 26, you should be out there working your butt off and not bother about benefits. Benefits are for the most vulnerable in the society and you are just stealing their benefits and enjoying a life.0 -

Excuse me but you don't know anything about me, I am on jsa because there is no jobs out there at the moment, I apply for 5 - 6 Jobs a day, I am no sky work.
I hate been on JSA, I would love for you to be in my situation and if you get your housing benefit cut, how would you cope if you end up can't afford your rent and end up homeless? You wouldn't like it would you?
If you was my advicer at the Jobcentre I would show you lots of proof of Jobs I have applyed and I will show you all my application on my Universal Jobmatch.
I am no scrounger, I am on jsa to get help with bills that is all.
Oh btw you say I am enjoying life? well first of all I can't afford sky, and I am lucky to get a top up every now and again.
I have bt which cost around £41.94 every month for my phone line and broadband and before you accuse me, I have broadband to apply for Jobs because from next year when this universal credit comes into force people need internet to create a universal jobmatch account and if they can't then they will get sanctioned and I have also heard people need to do Jobsearch for 35 hours.
Also I don't smoke, I don't drink and I have no aerial in my flat at the moment so If I am enjoying life on JSA like you stated In my situation then you are so wrong.0 -
Heads up for couples who are receiving HB.
I've just learned that from March 2013, if their accommodation is more than 1bed flat, they will not receive full HB. It sounds as though it's best to live apart before March 2013. It's all about splitting and breaking down of family, isn't it.0
