Morning all
DH gone back to work today but DS1&2 not working today or tomorrow. We have friends coming tonight so I need to get up and make a start. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Good morning all
I've been lurking rather than flying since Christmas as the ABs have been very slow to work on my chest infection and I've been coughing like crazy. Fortunately we had a fairly quiet Christmas - just one friend here on Christmas Day; another friend who was due to come on Boxing Day didn't; and the friends that we were going to on Thursday evening rang to cancel. For me this was a real blessing as between the coughing fits I only wanted to sleep anyway. Feeling a little better today
We did however make it to the West Midlands for the family party on Friday - no way was I going to miss that! - and had a lovely time with my children and all the grandchildren. The only disaster was that the crate of food fell out as DH opened the boot of our car, and one of the lasagne dishes broke, but there was still plenty for everyone, and a broken dish isn't the end of the world!
Another friend came yesterday afternoon and has stayed overnight (she's having a lie-in this morning) but will be leaving by 4 pm. I have already started to clear the ironing pile and will finish it after she's gone: just 6 shirts and 2 pillowcases to do. With only the two of us here for most of the holiday, the house is still tidy and will only need a quick flick of the microfibre-duster-on-a-stick and maybe a quick hoover before another couple come to lunch tomorrow.
Must go and get my shower as I can hear my friend is on the move! Will report in again when the ironing challenge is completed.0 -

Morning all. Well we all seem to be quite excited about bin day! Small blessings eh?
Hugs to all those feeling poorly.
So far today, I've sent an email about broken tablet pc and that is it. About to get dressed and walk the dogs.
Catch you all later.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Aww bonnie, hope you're feeling better. Our council has the bin days posted on their website, you just put your postcode in. Worth a try?
Well we have had a whizz round tidy. Not gone up to town yet. Still so windy, not sure if we'll bother... Would be good to get some stewing meat, though. Can you have dumplings with chicken casserole? I suppose so, but I haven't defrosted the chicken...
I'll give it an hour and see what the weathers doing.
Anyway, toys are all back in the playroom, and it's, err, well stockedbut surprisingly organised. Would still benefit from some attention. But I'm fairly happy with the rest of the house.
