The only thing the Mini has going for it is superior battery life.

And even that article doesn't believe the extra 3.2 hours battery life is worth £100. :)

Additionally, it doesn't require you to attach it to an iTunes-equipped PC (yes, the Mac is a PC!) for 'activation'. ...

If you are not already in the iron embrace of the iTunes Stalag Luft then think carefully before you sign up for it. You can do so much more with an Android device rather than be limited to what iTunes tells you that you are allowed to do (in addition to having to actually USE the mess of its interface )

Nexus 7 the winner of this lot
  • I'd almost made my mind up to the nexus 7 yesterday then popping to currys today made me think the ipad mini was better. I think i'll just wait until the 16gb nexus 7 comes back into stock and go for it. Thanks everyone for input and prepare yourself as i'll have lots of questions when I get it :)

That's just adding insult to injury. The real problem is that people who do not possess a PC can only get one if they walk into an Apple Store and ask a sales assistant to set it up for them there and then.

Sorry if I am slightly hijacking your thread, but having read above I think I am going to get myself a Nexus 7. However, I have no idea whether I require the 16 gb or 32 gb. Can anyone explain the benefits of getting the 32 gb one (or not). I would not be using the Nexus for any serious gaming.

Space for files and apps - things like videos, music etc.

If you're not going to store lots of that then the 16gb one is for you...

Its like the space on a laptop/pc hard drive, its for storing photos, music, games etc. I went for the 32gb but id rather have the extra space but whether I will use it is another matter but its there if I want to store music on it.

Only benefit between the 2 is the extra 16GB, rest of the nexus stays the same.

Nexus 7, and go for the 32GB if you have the budget (you are considering ipad mini so suggests you do).

You will only end up kicking yourself further down the line if you don't bag the capacity now.

Why did entering that laberinth AKA known Currys make you sway towards ipad mini? Can't have been the knowledge and wisdom imparted there surely.;)
