IPad Mini, Nexus 7 or Kindle Fire

Options
Further to my previous post I have decided against the cheaper tablets but now can't decide between the three i've listed?? Any recommendations would be great. I already have a kindle am I right in thinking that I am only able to transfer my books on my current kindle to another kindle product?

Thanks for any advice

I have downloaded the same book from Amazon to both my Kindle and my Nexus 7.

I'm new to the Android system, I got my Nexus at Xmas so I'm no expert but I like it and think it's much more value for money than the ipad mini.

There are more accessories for the ipad, I wanted a dock for my Nexus but it's not available yet (although it is coming).

The Nexus is a tad smaller so will fit in a bag or pocket easily.

There's a useful Youtube comparison video.....

  • Will my actual kindle library work on the other tablets? or do I need to purchase books twice?

You can download the Kindle app to ipad and all your books are there.
Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama ;)
  • So will I buy the books direct from Amazon still with the IPad?

Yes. You choose the device that you would like to initially download the book too (including your iPad with kindle installed).

Personal preference, but I like the iPad out of the three you have listed.
  • I've just asked my step son and he thinks that the Android's slow down quicker over time that the ipad's? Any one think that??
  • Also..... what price should I be expecting to pay for ipad mini. 16gb £269 in Currys, is that good?

You have more potential to install 'rubbish' on the Android, but apart from that one shouldn't slow down more than the other if you housekeep the applications and data properly.

And equally so on the Nexus 7. So that argument does not sway the decision either way.

For me the decision would come down to value for money ... the Nexus 7 is £100 cheaper (like for like with the 16GB Ipad mini). I got my wife a Nexus 7 for Xmas ... she's a self-confessed technophobe yet loves the Nexus and finds it very easy to use.

Additionally, it doesn't require you to attach it to an iTunes-equipped PC (yes, the Mac is a PC!) for 'activation'. The only thing the Mini has going for it is superior battery life.
