Loss of Broadband signal on extensions

I feel the fault is your extentions, tesco will not sort it without charge. (used to work for bt broaband as field engineer)> the quality of wire on them is what mattersDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

What make/model of router did Tesco supply? Or did you have your own, and if sos what M/Model?
Your neighbour's "signal booster or something" will be either a Range Extender, which is a box that is like an extension of the wireless router, or a Homeplug, which works by using the house wiring to take a signal to another part of the house. Either of these would work, but Homeplugs have disadvantages that weaken the signal: in an old house with poor wiring and/or very thick walls.
I would advise something like this:

Or This:

There are others by other manufacturers, I use Tp Link and so does my son. He has the WA830RE in the 2 teenage bedrooms, working from his own router downstairs, where his own PC lives. His house is about 80 years old with very thick brick walls, interior and exterior.
Ask your neighbour if you can see their setup, nothing demonstrates better than seeing something actually working. And you could get rid of the extensions, waste of space nowadays. I use wireless phones with 2 phone units.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.
