Loss of Broadband signal on extensions

I just typed everything out and lost it because my broadband signal went
So here is a short version :
I am with Tesco Broadband, the day I changed over from Talk Talk all my extension sockets stopped recieving an Internet signal, so I have to use the main socket. I live in a 3 storey house and I always got a better wireless signal upstairs.
Tesco Broadband have told me tough luck our priority is your main socket. I have escalated this and am awaiting a call back from a manager. The staff that work their have no technical ability whatsoever and read everything from a script and have no idea how to speak to customers. (I have sympathy with them I worked in a call centre for 10yrs). So I am hoping I might get a more knowledgable manager that knows what he is talking about.
So in essence I would like to know if there is something I can do to re-activate my extension sockets or do I need to contact Openreach (at mine or Tescos expense).
I currently have a get out clause with Tesco as they are increasing their prices, which I intend to use but wanted to try and get this issue resolved first.
Any help would be appreciated.
TIA
Kelly

So long as your BB is successfully reaching your main BB socket, then your BB is seen to be working just fine and is as far as BB provider needs to establish.
Any extensions or network sharing involved is the responsibility of the user and not the provider.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

You refer to wifi signal and extension sockets (presumably phone sockets)
Is the problem with both? This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0 -

Yeah, I have a poor wireless signal which is why I would like to be able to put my router nearer to my PC which is on the top floor.
I was recently speaking to my next door neighbour and they have a signal booster or something and don't have a problem with their signal, so I will look into this as an alternative.
On another note, Is there a Broadband/Phone provider that includes a decent router as standard ?Born and bred in Manchester (proud of it)

You don't, otherwise the main socket would be affected as well.
To repeat, any extensions or wiring downstream beyond the master socket are your equipment and responsibility, nothing to do with OR or TT.
If Tesco call OR out and a fault is found on your side, then you will be charged a minimum £130 call-out fee.
If you are convinced that the extensions are faulty, just get an independent telcom engineer in, it'll be about a quarter of the price.
Since there is no physical change in your property when you switched to Tesco, it does seem that this is just a coincidence. I can only think that in setting up the router cabling etc you may have caused one of the connection to the extensions from the master to come adrift-presumably they are wired in series, not spoke and hub, so one failing will fail the others?
Why not check the master wiring to see?
You cannot contact OR, as they have no retail presence-you can only involve them via your ISP.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Hallo OP, please describe how your extension sockets are wired back to the master socket.
Are they plugged in to the socket on the front, maybe to the phone side of the microfilter, or are they wired to the back of the faceplate as per piccy?
Sorry about the huge picture.
As others have said extension wiring is the responsibility of the home owner, BT OR responsibility is up to and including the Master socket and no further. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Did an engineer visit your house when you changed? Did he perchance change your socket faceplate?0

This happened to me ,the OR engineer installed a new master socket(ADSL V1.0)which has a dedicated BB socket so that I could connect my router straight to the master. I do remember him saying something about my extension upstairs being disconnected as I was now happy to connect my BB wirelessly .0 -
Even if this is the case, you can get filtered faceplates wherein you can wire an extension from the non-filtered side, thus allowing you to put your router at that extension. The XTE-2005 from ADSLNation is one such example.0
