    i would like a simpler life! :)
Just looking for thoughts on how to achieve that - simple phone & Payg sim seem best plan but can i keep iphone and use it as camera, game device on no plan at all?

Of course the phone is yours-it has been from the first day of your contract. Give your 30 days notice and switch to a SIM only contract or PAYG whatever suits you best.
If you don't want the smartphone features, then just switch off data and use it as a basic handset for calls and texting.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I have an iPhone and when my contract finished I went with GiffGaff I pay £10 a month and no contract for that I get 250 minutes talk time unlimited text and 1gb data which I find more than enough! t For £12 a month and no contract you can have unlimited date they are under the O2 umbrella. I have been with them for the last 9 months and although not perfect the service is pretty good check it out.
Low Carb High Fat is the way forward I lost 80 lbs

Since first using Martins I have saved thousands
  • Thanks for your replies everyone. Much appreciated. If I go down the Sim only route do I have to change my number? I mostly use the phone to check twitter and email, use google maps, upload pics to Facebook etc, and texts - don't actually speak to anyone on the phone. So would need a tariff with high download allowance. Have been without a phone for a few days now and it is really liberating! would love to go without altogether but it is handy for childcare emergencies, and the all the other stuff I listed before. I also really like being able to take decent pics when I want to so the iPhone is very handy for that.

phone up o2, ask them to transfer over to a sim only deal, you will keep your number if you are already on o2.

The number can be ported anywhere, but if it's not Giffgaff or Tesco Mobile the phone will need unlocking . AFAIK, O2 unlock for free.
