That is what I was told, it reads differently now of course, but it still says premium

    From Spotify website

Enjoy instant access to over 18 million songs without ads.
Listen on your phone, your computer, your iPad...
Download your favourite playlists and listen offline.
    Better sound quality.

You seem like the type of customer who moans for the sake of moaning, like I stated previously, it's a free trial, if you ain't happy don't take it and move on to something else to moan about.
  • All I know is that when I rang them to go on this 6 months cheap introductory package I was told it included 3 months of premium Spotify, I asked does that mean I can download like people who have bought Spotify and they told me it did. If it didn't, how does it differ from the free one, and why would they mislead people like that?

Won1888, I know you are just dying to go for the jugular but, I couldn't care less about that, just that I have been conned on the phone to them and it's wrong. If it doesn't allow downloads it's just like the free one, so why say it isn't?

Can you just clarify whether downloads have ever been part of any Spotify subscription, my recollection is they haven't.

I thought you used to have to purchase credits for downloading tracks. But Spotify have now stopped this all together.

Can you show where you have seen that downloads are included in a Spotify premium subscription?

So why do they describe it as Premium if you still have to buy the credits? this is what I don't understand. If that makes me an idiot so be it, but I can tell you I am not the only one who feels this way, especially as the whole thing has packed up anyway

The difference from the paid version and the free one as far as I am aware is the paid one has no ads, can be played on your phone, tablet etc and all songs on your playlist are available. Anyone who agrees to any contract without looking into first is asking for trouble. Maybe you'll use this as a valuable lesson on looking in detail to any contract that you are about to agree on.

Because the download feature is (was) a separate service. No company is going to offer you unlimited downloads for a fixed monthly price. They would go out of business over night.

The main difference is that the free version restricts you to just 5 plays of most of the available songs.
  • thanks for the helpful advice from other posters, still feel like it's a rip off, but hey ho, I'll just take it lying down.......yeah right
