So proud of my kids because...

Options
... their Cmas lists were small as "we don't need much, do we? And we have loads of toys already."

...we spent Cmas with family, so only took a couple of presents. The Lego Brickmaster books and Where's Wally pack kept them happily amused for hours.

...they met loads of strangers this holiday and they were polite and friendly to them all. They included new kids quickly into their games and made them feel part of the family.

...we've only opened the rest of the pressies this morning and they've appeared extremely grateful for everything they've received.

...lots of kids they've seen this holiday the same age as them have all got ipad minis, tablets etc. Not once have my kids asked for one, or whinged that they don't have one.

...they've now independently decided to sort through their bedrooms to give their old toys that they no longer play with to children who don't have very many toys.

So proud of my 6 and 8 year old. Lots of hugs for them at the moment - they both know I think their hearts are the most beautiful part of them.

Spread a bit of seasonal cheer - why are you proud of your kids right now?

Well done to your kids (and to you for raising them this way).

My daughter (13) has shown a great deal of maturity and understanding this Xmas and I'm proud of her for not being 'wanty' like some other kids can be.

..they've grown into lovely adults. If I wasn't their mum, I'd want each of them as a close friend.

My two are only 5 and 19 months but I was so proud of my dd when she wrote her letter to Santa and told him that she didn't know what she wanted for Christmas and she would be happy with whatever she got. Despite all the excitement (and the sugar!) she has been so well behaved :A. I really am lucky with my two they are just great, full of fun, a bit mischievious (DS ;)) don't get me wrong they aren't always sweetness and light lol but I wouldn't have it any other way :o

  • What a lovely thread! :D

My 8 year old bought a particular item from one of the stalls at her school's Xmas fair, as she was there early and knew that a friend of hers was desperate for it. She then gave it to her chum, who was thrilled. (I didn't know anything about it until the chum's mum complimented her on her thoughtfulness some weeks later.)

My 5 year old rushed into the dining room after school one day and began to write some cards. We had 'posted' all of his classmates' cards the previous day and I knew we'd given one to every child so I was somewhat puzzled; he explained that one child hadn't got as many cards as the rest of the class so he wrote another five for them to balance things out!

*Proud* :D Some of the messages are getting through :j

  • The only thing on my 17 year olds Christmas Wish List was a black eyeliner :). She also spent her Christmas Eve volunteering at Riding for the Disabled where she also spends a lot of her waking hours when she's not studying. She volunteers twice a month at a local children's bereavement charity and has done for the past 4 years (her own dad died when she was 7). I'm incredibly proud of her :)

    That's lovely, Alikay :)

I love the different personalities my two have. I enjoy their company and will look forward to spending time with them as adults as much as I enjoy spending time with them now.

I have been quite ill this year and they have shone through as young carers. I know how difficult it is for them at times but they are fab girls.

I love them to bits - may not always like their behaviour, but totally love them :)

  • My 8 year old rang 999 when his dad had a seizure and I was at work last week. He didn't know our postcode so he found a letter with it on so he could give it to the emergency operator.

The operator asked him to open the front door wide so when the ambulance arrived the crew could get straight in, to which he said 'ok but my 2 year old brother might escape so I will have to hold his hand until you get here!'.

He then called me at work to let me know what was happening.

I'm so proud of him I could burst! Xx
