Mother died with debt and no estate. Help needed

Thanks for correcting that.
I think heather would be best to do the funeral and walk away from the rest but I suspect she would find that difficult.
Why will I find doing the funeral difficult?
Sorting that is quite easy. Getting the money for it from the insurance to pay for it is the tricky bitI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

I didn't mean arranging the funeral. Paying for it won't be an issue because you have the insurances. The bank should accept the insurance payments into her account.
From your posts, I didn't think you would be able to walk away from sorting out the estate and leaving the creditors to work it out between themselves.0 -
ah I see what you mean.
I must say I don't understand how I will not be able to get involved. I will send off death certificates and not anything else but seeing as I have no other family members surely someone has to take responsibility to sort it all out. I can't see how the creditors can do this themselvesI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

It will be up to one of the creditors to take on administrating the estate. If there's very little to be gained from it, no-one may bother.0 -
I am clearing out her rented flat tomorrow as the landlord needs it back.
Hope this will be ok with the creditors. Nothing to keep other than things like photosI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

How do you think they do it when there is no relative?
you don't have to do it.
This is the point I keep making NO ONE is legaly responsible for sorting out an estate.
It is something people choose to do, usualy because there is some benitit for them, solicitor because they get paid, relative because they benifit.
With an insovent estate it is the creditor than will benifit let them do it if they think it is worth it.0 -

usualy something that says if they pay you and should have paid the estate you will pay it back to the estate.
you have to check the wording carefully.0 -

I know I answered this allready but another thought came to me.
How is your estate going to be managed?
Something to think about if you have assests but no obvious family to pass them too.
I know you have come here for help and feel isolated with no family, but do you have any friends or people at work that you could pass some of this past, it is suprising how many people have got involved with estates or have parents that may have that could help a bit.
It may be you prefer to not have this part of your life know to others you know.0 -

I haven't decided about my estate. I am only 32 and honestly haven't thought about it
I work with teenagers so they can't help and none of my friends can help either
Told people and people said they would help if they could but they haven't got a clue eitherI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
