  • Good morning:wave:

January mortgage payment went out on the first and I've also banged a £400 op in which will be directed towards the secured loan part of my mortgage taking the total balance down to £90829:D. Ohhh it felt good!:j. Gonna chuck a few more op's towards the secured loan part this month and I'm hoping to the tune of £500(ish), which when my Feb payment goes through will take me below the 90k barrier....bring it on baby:T. Gotta get rid of the secured loan part first even though both bits are at the same interest rate, it will just make me feel goooood....and we all need bigging up sometimes;).

Been ever so good at work, not paid out a single penny towards lunches and I totally love my food:wink:. Im often tempted by a certain sandwich and sausage roll shop on the industrial estate but this week have been lead away from temptation and just made do with what we have in the cupboards:grouphug:.

Weekends are usually the killer, when shops are calling out to the beautiful teenage type and baby boy has desires to go to the pictures...but gotta give them some fun too...dont wanna be remembered forever as a miser yummy mummy:rotfl:

  • Hello Del. B
Reading your diary with great interest! I would like to make op on my mortgage too. It is a part repayment and part endowment. I would like to op the endowment part as the endowment will no way cover what it is supposed to. Could you let me know how to go about it please?! Thank you x
  • Hi wannabecontent:wave:

Thanks for popping by. My mortgage is all repayment and Virgin allow us to make a maximum 10% op's in a year, but saying that not every lender has the same rules. Maybe give your lender a call first of all and see what your terms and conditions read. I just called mine up, told them to direct my op's toward the smaller secured loan part and gave them my card details. That was last night and this morning my virgin online mortgage has been recalculated. Good luck with overpaying yours:).

  • Good evening:)

Went out trolling the shops today with beautiful teenage daughter, one of those missions were you don't quite know what she's looking for so it's best to search EVERY shop just in case we miss something......grrrrr:cool: Ended up me making the purchases this time.....3 pairs of jeans for £21.....Primarni's finest!:D. Got to be honest was totally in dire need of some new jeans as my old ones were that worn when I bent down the world got a wink;). I'm usually a N*xt girl so was happy to buy 3 for the price of 1 and in the long length too:T

Off to Asd*a tomorrow for a weekly shop, didn't have time to click and collect this week but must make more of an effort for next week. Mr Buttercup is going on a diet as of Monday so that's easy to cater for him, just me and the cherubs to sort out so should be a fairly cheap shop, mind you looking at other peoples food spends I really don't know how they spend so little! Batch cooking has never been my forte, infact cooking full stop has never been my best point - never poisoned anybody get mind you so can't be all bad:rotfl:

    Have a pleasant evening:)

  • Good evening:wave

Been to do the Asd* weekly shop minus the little Buttercups:D, love them millions but it's ever so easier without them intow;). Totally bill came to just a tad over £100, but had some price checker coupons to put through so that brough it down to £94:T. Had obviously purchased the working mothers "Amber nectar" vino blanco 3 for a tenner in the shop;)? Then went on my normal weekly Asd* walk about....picking other peoples discarded till receipts up ....well you wouldn't walk past a fiver laying on the floor would you.:rotfl.? By heck it's grim up North!!:). Got to say beautiful teenage type is utterly ashamed at my actions and far prefers to hide in the car when she is accompanying me:o. So need to get my act together for next week and this meal planning business, a must do really. Also been messing with the op calculators and have really enlightened myself as so maybe a £100 or two extra above my anticipated op will make the woooorld of difference, sort of excited but scared as well:p

Enjoy your evening.....kids back at school tomorrow - whey!!!!:D

  • Whenever I play with op calculators I get excited! For example if I reach £60k by the end of my fixed term and it goes to the variable rate of 4℅ (obviously this could change) my standard payment drops by £100 meaning I could potentially overpay by another £100 a month!

I'm planning too far ahead as it's fixed until May 2016 anyway!

I don't think I'll fix again though because if I'm under a 10% limitation for op and my mortgage is say £50k I'd have to put overpayment overflow into isas which will annoy me no end!
    Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000
    Mortgage 2: £270,000😱 Jan 2019 £253,000 April 2020

Ah yes, Wombling :rotfl:. Tried to do it in Tesco's yesterday but not a receipt in sight :(
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

  • Hi:wave:

Think the penny has just dropped Sothernman that this 10% max op malarkey could indeed mean that if I really put my foot to the floor then I too would have to hit the isa's , which would knark me off a little as Im the type of gal that likes to see instant results;).

Gallygirl - thank goodness there is a name for my little scavenging episodes ....Wombling ...I like that:rotfl:

I take it I'm not alone with my receipt fetish ;). That makes me feel more normal:D
