Hello, please may I join this challenge? I spend way too much on clothes and end up not wearing what I buy, because its hidden away in mounds of other unworn 'stuff'!
Short_bird - I have just been reading up on Project 333 and I think it could shake me out of my bad habits... I am definitely up for giving it a try... Thanks for the tip!
I would like to set my amount for the year at £500... It still sounds like a lot, but believe me when I say it is loads less than I have been spending over the last couple of years...
I am going to kickstart my personal challenge by saying no clothes spending at all in January.
Looking forward to a less cluttered, more stylish New Year!0 -
Ooops, my target budget is £500
thanks very much!0 -
Please can I join?
I'd like to set my budget at £600
I think it would be a real achievement if I could stick to it, but I want to go for it based on the following:- I need to lose weight and therefore will be able to 'free' a lot of lovely things from my wardrobe, that have been silently mocking me for a year or so
- I am learning to sew and have lots of fabric waiting to be made into dresses

Hi Happy New Year everyone. I've now sorted out my wardrobe and decluttered stuff for the charity shop and it makes me smile each time I open it and see everything all lovely and tidy with lots of space rather than stuff crammed together and a mountain of shoes at the bottom. Long may it continue! I know it's a big geeky but I've done a spreadsheet so I know exactly how many of each item I have. Love the idea of Freedom Friday but I'll do it on Saturday cos I'm working all day Friday in my uniform. Bye for now xxSober October = 0 alcohol free days

Its a great feeling knowing its all tidy and sorted out!
the spreadsheet is a good idea, it will save you from being tempted to buy yet another (dress/skirts/jeans etc) when you have already got a load! it will focus the mind on need not want when it comes to spending something on clothes!Dont wait for your boat to come in 'Swim out and meet the bloody thing'0 -
I'm going to join as well i think, I'm always guilty of buying that new outfit I don't need then I wear it once and it will forever live in my cuboard after that.
numbered and in! welcome! ah dont worry i think most of us are all guilty of that, i get brainwashed by my love of NEW THINGS!!!I'm in Ireland, "ctrl" + "alt" + "4" should get you a € symbol but honestly it doesn't matter, just use £ for my updates, I'll know!
€ excellent - yay i can do it! yeah well I detest the cold, and if i have to do it then do it properly is what i say. i am not a very sensible dresser but i know my limits.gothrockchic1 wrote: »Hi all, this is my first time on this thread. Hiya, please could I join, rather urgently, before the new Next Directory arrives?!
absolutely numbered and in! Welcome and congrats on losing weight. I would get myself off the mailing list, too much temptation.
I really don't need anything else.
I really don't need anything else.
I really don't need anything else. I need to start saying this to myself every day.:)
numbered and in, welcome! yes to MANTRA! i think i will steal for myselfGoing4TheDream wrote: »I would like to join in, I don't have debt but I have an overflowing wardrobe or two......and some. I have been thinking about no clothes and shoes for a while so in preparation I have been sorting out things that I can sell, lots of stuff BNWT, stuff I can up-cycle as I am a whizz with a sewing machine, and stuff to gift to charity shops.
I have zips, buttons, threads, all sorts of trim and stuff to update clothes with, an over-locker and sewing machine. I am setting my spend at Zero for buying clothes and no more than £25 for any haberdashery that I cannot salvage from old stuff.
HARDCORE! LOVING IT! numbered and in! Welcome! yeah i think i may set myself a target of being more creative this yr, had my first foray last year.Hi
Count me in too please. I have a large debt and a fairly full wardrobe. I'm going to follow G4theD's lead and try some upcycling, but will set my limit at £100 for the year. I need to start with a jolly good sort out and sell some stuff on ebay, but I guess that will wait until the children are back at school.
welcome, you have your number and are in! yay upcycling!!!i'm joining have a real issue with asda sale stuff always think it will be a good buy dont try doesnt fit lies in a bag then ends up in the bin.so 2013 no more clothes .i have a wedding november aiming to be a lot slimmer and fitter
CONGRATS!!! i am getting married too in september so i decided i wouldnt include my wedding dress in the budget, although i am hoping to only spend £200 on it.Oh my goodness, the thread is running away without me! Please accept my apologies, I have been lacking internet for a few days... At least that meant no online shopping!!!
My downfall is sales, and charity shops, and ebay... Buying things I don't really need for for the sake of a "bargain"...
oh those "bargains" eh! WELCOME PARTNER! if i keep the members updated, would you mind doing the monthly updates for the members and i will take that and update the first page??IF YOU THINK YOU ARE SO CLEVER, THEN WHY ARE'NT YOU RICH?

Hi,
Most of what I buy, at least the 'high-end' stuff, is reduced but I know that I've bought brand name things because they were heavily discounted, not because I needed or even really wanted them
So rambling confession over, probably, I'll join you lovely lot with a budget of £300 for the year and No handbags or dressy dresses! :rotfl:
ah dont worry you are in good company, i think we all fall for those "bargins! you are numbered and in, WELCOME!mad_scientist wrote: »I went over but still managed to spend less than £200 over the whole year which I was pleased with. I still have a bulging wardrobe and drawers so still don't need to buy anything really although I am becoming less and less fashionable all the time :rotfl:
under 200! i reckon it will take me a few years to get to that low level, yyou are an inspiration to show it can be done! i think you are allowed to replace stuffand remember the true fashionishnata doesnt follow fashion, but creates it. so dont believe what people say.
