Afternoon All

I'm plodding in the sunshine, thought I'd best come in out of sun for a while, got to think of my skin, Ald* face cream is good, but it can't work miracles .

Feeling bit fed up despite the sun, Summer weather reminds me of difficult times last year and DS and DD's Dad has taken them out, so I've too much time to think probably.

Anyway, not doing too bad today:
2 lots of washing through and on whirlygig;
Quick tidy of lounge and bathroom;
Dead-headed all daffodils in front garden and swept around front door/mat;
Some old plastic pots in garage recycled;
Had some HM leek and potato soup for lunch (not really the weather, but I made loads last night due to leeks and potatoes that needed using);
Cleaned out drain cover on side of house (yuck);
Cleaned out bird bath and feeders, refilled them all, so birds are happy;

Want to bake next, but going to make a cuppa and sort through some of the never-ending paperwork piles of doom with my ruthless head on.

Cleared the ironing yesterday.
Sorted some newspapers today.
Sorted the folder containing booklets for appliances.
Cleaned the oven!!!
Cleaned some windows. ( the ones in the shade ), cleaned kitchen window sills and pot plants.

Am I crazy this sunny day?
Actually it is too hot to be out at the moment, can we believe it?

Have had a productive sort of day today, since I've got today off work:
ironing done & put away
hoovered downstairs & upstairs
washed some dishes
kitchen counters got cleaned
parts of inside of fridge cleaned & some tomatoes binned
load of washing currently getting done
shredded paper in shredder put into bag (will go to recycling once this bag has been filled)
grass in back garden cut
have made a start on clearing out the shed. Hasn't really been done in past few years
Bathroom got cleaned on during the weekend

Newly Retired - It's not just you, I think the sun makes me want to work harder and be more productive.

Eeek, well decluttering is going really well here, not through choice mind! Mice from the local vicinity have found their way in

Huge cupboard under the stairs and kitchen have both been emptied. Can't really bring myself to keep anything from the areas I know they've been. We took 3 massive car fulls to the tip. As much as it goes against the grain to throw good things away, can't abide keeping them.

As far as we know, they have only been in kitchen and utility room, no sign of them anywhere else. 2 dead and hopefully no more to go,fingers crossed!

On the plus side, downstairs is looking, dare I say it, minimalist (aka - looks like we've been burgled)! There's a few things we will need to replace but for the most part, everything that's gone is out for good.

decluttered an empty bottle of snow fairy into the recycling this morning after using the dregs up last night
promised DD2 a pair of crocs so they are in a bag waiting to go
found a few bits of assorted scrap metal that DH can take into work for the scrap metal recycling bin.

Afternoon all.

It has been months since I have posted on here as I had reached a state I was happy with and temporarily stopped decluttering. However a few shopping trips and episodes of the Hoarder Next Door later and I am fired up again and think there is work to be done.

Black clutch bag on ebay didn't sell on its second relisting. Will try once more then put in charity shop bag.

Had another sort out of my nail polishes and set aside 8 bottles. A freecycler wanted nail polish so I emailed them to offer but have not heard back. If I don't hear by end of the week I will offer them on freecycle.

I have been eyeing up a padded purple gilet I have that is brand new and only worn once. I think I will ebay it. Thing is not sure it will sell as we are going into summer now but I can try.

Off to try and catch up with as many posts as I can manage. Lilyplonk I imagine your place must be pretty much sorted now!

Decluttered my slippers into the bin this morning they are old and ratty and i nearly fell downstairs n them yesterday.
all weeds cleared from front garden yesterday and dandelions decluttered from 'my' corner of the local park as they were all in flower and would only seed all over my front. - council can have them back on friday as they are now in my compost bag.
3 books have been put into another CS box ive started.

Thanks Mrs Moneypenny, we haven't had any activity over the last couple of days. I've volunteered OH to venture into the loft to have a look, he's not impressed (ah well, he'll get over it!) My guinea pigs are waging war on dandelions at the moment, it seems like 2 spring up for every one they get rid of.

Fitnessfreak - The Horder Next Door is scary stuff! It's definitely incentive to get moving again, I had to change the channel half way through. It sounds like you are springing into action again. Do you find that clutter builds up when your back is turned?

It's frightening how much "stuff" you have until you come to sort it out/declutter/move. I really didn't think that we had half of what we did. The mice invaded the junk cupboard, loving (or not!) nicknamed my "Monica" cupboard and we had a tin of paint from when we moved in.....8 years ago! It was totally dried out and no use to man nor beast, what possessed me to keep it?

been through a box of sunscreens and culled a lot of it as its was at least 2 or 3 years old and had been in and out of the hot weather so probably wasnt any good anymore
