Got to my store at 7.30 and was at the front, my sister was already there so got us both a trolley as there was only about 7 available. Last year I had 3 big bags, I shop for presents for the whole year. I had a few people moaning behind me that I was taking the trolley down the aisles! biting my tongue lol It was no where near as busy last year but this year was heaving, full of rude and ignorant people who thought they had a god given right to judge and push! I certainly weren't leaving my trolley at the end of an aisle for the vultures to root through and take stuff out! anyway I got everything I wanted, spent £143 and saved well over £300 :)
  • Well I have gone to Meadowhall for the first and the very last time for sure... what a silly silly idea that was... was there from the very beginning... didn't help that I had to take my 3 year old... I really wanted to spare her of having to go in and the agreement was that my Mum will watch her in front of the store whilst I get in but my Mum was running late... so plans went a bit wonky anyway... there was lots of people and no respect at all... people piled into the isles and everybody was stuck as people just refused to move... I didn't get a single item of what I wanted... so trully disapointed this year... luckily tho my little one being much smaller she has found herself a lovely vtech car in the bottom shelf that she really liked so quite happy with that... wish I bought the big nivea pack at half price as that was the only thing that I really wanted... next year I will sure go to the high street store as it is much more civilised there... mainly people who go there before work rather then organised groups of people who chuck everything and anything into their baskets and shove everybody aside... glad to see most of you had much better luck... well it's all part of the game isn't it? Good luck for next year to everyone... x

the store I was going to had advertised as opening at 9am...but they opened at 8am! got there thinking ive still got 20 minutes spare, and no queues outside, but as I walked closer, I saw herds of people inside!! I was so shocked! rushed inside...and hardly nothing worth mentioning left. so so so disappointed today. I only wanted a few make up gift sets. but came away with only a champneys hand care set. there should be a limit of some sort as to what people can buy in order to make it fair for everyone. I saw a few people there with hoards and hoards piled up on the floor guarding it wild eyed. obviously not all gifts....

Online orders are now being canceled with lots of people receiving emails about high demand and lack of stock but not letting anyone know exactly which items were out of stock.

I got to the Meadowhall Boot's just after it opened oh my goodness what a rugby scrum it was. I also had my daughter in her pushchair and you had no chance of getting hardly anything! Literally had to circle the area. Won't be going to that particular store next year it was hideous. Some people literally has numerous gigantic bag full's of stuff. Honestly Boot's should limit how much people buy to give other's a chance, just pure selfish!

  • We went to the Peterborough queensgate store, and O-M-G it was horrific! Utter carnage! People clearing shelves, and one couple in particular clearing the place out (when we left they had two cages full and the sales assistants were STILL ringing them through the till). Terrible really. We spoke to some people in the queue and apparently they do it every year. That aside, miraculously we did well and got everything we wanted, list below.

We ordered some things online this morning and they seemed to go through ok, but then at 4pm this afternoon ee received another email saying the response to the sale had been phenomenal and as a result when my order reached the warehouse some items were out of stock. We won't know until we receive sn email confirming what, if anything, we have bought successfully. We hope we got the Guinness pie dish, ted Baker great and the gorgeous set and the hairy bikers pepper mill, but will wait and see. We aren't complaining though, as we managed to get things in store that we never imagined we would.

I hope everyone else got the things they wanted, if not everything then at least something.

Sorry to hear you didn't get what you wanted.
I've never been to Meadowhall for this sale but have heard lost of nasty reports as to how bad it gets - I believe they had to call the security last year as people were almost fighting!

I always go to the high street store and you're right it's a lot of people that go before work; a lot more civilised with an orderly queue and good banter whilst we wait too.
There was some though as usual that didn't join the queue and waited near the seats outside then ran in as soon as the doors opened - not really necessary there was plenty to go round and not fair on us that had waited.

Got most of what I wanted :)

I don't risk the website for that reason - don't envy those that waited up all night and run the risk of their order not being fullfilled.

Still sounds like you got a nice little haul at least :T

My local seemed much busier than last year, quite a few outside by the time the doors opened and everyone legging it to the shelves. There did seem to be less stock than last year but again there were people just buying bags and bags of stuff. Managed to get two med sized sanctury sets that I wanted (actually they are a bit disappointing and deff wouldn't have paid full price for them) and some glitter babes stuff for some girls I buy for. Also a S&G set for me, although at 10.50 I'm still not sure it's worth it, I only really wanted the scrub, that is £8 normally, would use the body wash and prob the hand cream but not really all that much of a bargain so might go back.

  • I didn't pick up much but got-

    Joules bath set
    2 x mini aftershave set's
    1 pack of xmas card's
    2 pack's of gift bag's
    Elmo red teddy

I wanted the Sanctuary tin but just couldn't get one with a buggy in tow. Note to self next year get hubby to book the day off work to look after the kid's. Like someone else said it wouldn't surprise me if they only reduced stock by 65%. I did get a few bit's in the 50% off sale, good job I did as I didn't see these thing's today.
