OP, how long has it been since you first reported the fault? Also, have them attempted the repair or have you refused it in the hope you get a replacement?0 -
OP, I used to work for a large electrical chain in the service department. You will always always be offered a repair first unless its not cost effective to repair or the parts needed for the repair are unavailable. Manufacturers are very very slow to hand out exchange documents unless they REALLY have to. I would let them repair it and if it goes wrong again you are in a much stronger position to get an exchange.
I know this is probably not what you want to hear, but I have dealt with many machines that have needed new drums and bearings and have been perfectly ok once this has been done.
