Kerry GT – Wow ½ price shop with coupons that is amazing. I found basmati rice difficult to cook with but I have the hang of it now and I use it all the time for Biryani curries it’s so easy and you sling them in the oven they are Daddy Rivett’s favourite curry. Here is a good recipe: http://www.lovefood.com/guide/recipes/14930/anjali-pathaks-simple-chicken-biryani or try one of the pataka’s Biryani jars when they are on special.
Oh now, I'm having a panic now, I pretty much have always cooked rice the same way - boil the water and chuck in the rice, what's the secret with basmati?
Thanks for the recipie ideas - I'm not too bad with curry although I do tend to resort to whatever jar is on offer at times, still have some 10p jars of Turkey curry sauce (think that was Pataks) in my stash
Well NSD #11 for me today - was out boot camping in the snow again :A My fax boxing session today (incl 182 each of sit ups, leg raisers and squats  so I might ache a bit tomorrow. However I also found I can do c.220 punches in a min :eek::eek:) OH had better behave:rotfl:
Gonna be a tough one to meet target this month, I need 5 out of 9 days which sounds ok (56%) but its OH b'day on Thurs, I'm going out for dinner with a work friend on Fri (she also shares the same b'day as OH) so that's deff a spendy as will Sat as I have a hair appt. Tomorrow I already have a list of things to pick up in town so that's three days where I'm going to be spending already.... wish me luck!Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Kerri GT - it's just taken me ages to get the knack of cooking rice, it used to go to mush, but I now have the hang of it. Basmati is very delicate but it is also great in one pot slow cooking it takes in all the juices and is amazing. Once I got the hang of it, after a couple failed attempts, we love it.

Hi everyone, hope you are all well as have not had chance to read back over the last few pages. Didn't even switch my laptop on last night as have had a couple of seriously busy days at work coupled with nightmare commuting. Took me over 2 hours to get home last night and not much better this evening. The remainder of my night consisted of shower, food and bed. Told you I lead an exciting life
Had to have a spend day yesterday but today is NSD 8. I have one spend day left  so will have to work out what I need and when I go shopping but it mustn't amount to more than my allowed budget. Normally I would be wishing for the month end for payday now it's because I want to reach my target LOL! :rotfl:
Will catch up with what I've missed tomorrow night when hopefully the train service will start to resemble ............... a train service:)
Enjoy the rest of your evening.

don't apologise Marmite, we all have days like that & it's just great that you managed to do the update!
Not an nsd today as my beloved Kenwood Breadmaker has died and I have bought another. It's something I use a lot,so feel a bit lost without one.I'm not sure that that is what my emergency fund is for though?
Definitely an emergency in my book, & could be seen as MSE, as in the long run it will save you loads on shop bought bread!
bdini shame you didn't see the bossman.Glad you're still grinning though.:)When do you finish?
Finish on Feb 8th, so not even 3 weeks to go :j & then have a weeks paid leave that i needed to take before i start my new job on 18th!!
Got my bit of satisfaction today when the 2 senior workers, who are at the heart of the gossiping & cliqueyness, realised that i'd be on more money than them in my new job, there were a few very amazed "how did you manage that?" type comments, to which i just replied "obviously my skills are better than you though" smiled sweetly & left the office.... (before i broke into a massive grin)
MummyR - well done with the debt busting!!
Beanie - great news that the lurgy is finally on it's way out!!
Oh & number 14 for me please :jFebruary NSD challenge 5/150 -

NSD #8 today
I did go shopping on my way home from school for new coloured pens and pencils but I had a voucher to spend so not counting them as a spend.
Didn't manage one yesterday as we had a snow day which resulted in having breakfast butties from the local shop and fish from the chippy for lunch!
