Covered the first part o my course that was the easy part. Now I've got to plan out study times which I'll do in a mo . Moved 2 phone boxes and sorted out a home admin task. So far 3 tops selected for the Carboot - 99p each I'd get I think so probably better and quicker just taking them to the carboot. Still more tops to sort. Checked for any new job adverts - none.
Not done app for other job yet but experience tells me they only look after the deadline so I have plenty of time for this but will aim to finalise it tomorrow.
Done quite a bit and almost an hour time wise in garden but this heat and an inability to stomach any food does not mix so I am having a break before getting on with it again. It is already looking loads better thoughCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
After feeling like I had a really good start today things have definitely slowed down now. Although the hour gardening turned into over 3 hours and there is a minimum of at least 2 days extra work to do still:eek:
I'm happy with what I have achieved though it is visibly a massive difference and a great improvement
I must do the cash back today before it expires and finish the tops - as they're all on the bed. I also need to do the bedside cabinet as I am frankly sick of the sight of itAnd I need to move the dumped item in the spare room before it gets broken and I need to find a home for the blender - New rule is anything new coming into the house has to be housed within 24 hours!
Will discuss tomorrows tea with my Mr later I'm aiming for whatever will shift the biggest bulk from the freezer.
Hoping I will get a bit more done today as he sun seems set to depart for now and I've been enjoying a little rest before getting on with stuff. Have to say my view of the bit of garden I've done is lovelyCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Hello DDFW
You aren't talking to yourself! I'm afraid I am guilty of reading but not posting.
Do the Excel course. £10 is money well spent if it gives you the confidence to say you know how to use Excel. I work in finance and people probably think I should be a genius on Excel. The reality is I only know the basics; adding up, multiplying numbers etc. Most of what I know is formatting - making things look nice and neat. I am clueless about using macros etc. I'm sure I could learn if I had to. Anyway, what I am trying to say is that I may only know the basics but it is enough for my job and I suspect for most jobs. So don't underestimate the value of your skills if you do this Excel refresher course.
I was thinking one day that I suspect you live not too far from where I grew up. And we are almost the same age. We won't know each other in real life - I am not stalking you! But it is interesting to hear your perspective on things and, of course, certain things resonate.
I've been a bit poorly recently and I can't cope with the hot weather so I feel like a few weeks have passed me by without achieving a great deal. I am looking forward to a couple of cooler days this weekend. I may not be able to rival your lists but hope to get a few things done.
Best wishes xMortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000

Hi Dedicated! *big wave*
Sorry I've been MIA but I've been really busy with work and out of internet at both home and work (I'm currently at my mum's using her internet connection) and all this heat has been brutal so I just tend to go *flop* on my sofa at the end of the day and not do a lot, except declutter a bit when I can't get away without doing it anymore! :rotfl:

How 2 steps forwards 1 step back am i ?I really need to set myself a spending money budget - this way i know what i have to spend 'guilt free' and i can really weigh up how i can make the most of my spends rather than what is happening at the moment - a £0 spend budget where i buy alot of the things i want - as in way more than a budget would allow
Even though i know a few of the reasons i spend money it is hard for me to put things in place to stop this  i guess i need to leave all cash and cards at home - but then i'd worry about being broken into and all the cards etc. going
(There have been a couple of break-ins lately).
I know the feeling! At the minute I don't really have any money left over in my budget to account for treats but if I do need to buy anything over, I feel bad, but these things do and have to happen. I need work clothes. Argh! :wall:DedicatedDFW wrote: »I am here for myself posting what i spend in an attempt to rein in the unnecessarys, keep track of spends, get back to thriftiness and a life of mse
I need to come back and do that as well. Talk about burning the candle at both ends!

Even if i then need to do the course under a different accrediting body at another time i'll be so far ahead as having done this it will be tons easier to achieve :T It is a stepping stone in the right direction for my career so i am a happy thing about this
Ooh, I'm DELIGHTED for you (but make sure you get plenty of rest!!!). I desperately wanted to study something recently but had to say no due to cost and considering would it actually get me anywhere despite me really wanting to study it for aaaaaaaages. I'll have to go back later. *sigh*
Right, I'll be back next week on my own thread with my Plan For World Domination (or Getting Solvent at Least).
Enjoy your weekend!

Hi Chocs :j I've missed you - but i have also had times where i've only been up to reading and not posting for one reason or another - hope you are ok? Sorry to hear you have been ill ((hugs)) hope you're better now?
I am the same with the heat - it just saps the energy out of me but as i really need as much vitamin d as i can get i've been out in it quite a bit and have been coping a bit better with it - except for the too hot nights when i can't sleep. Also i have so much to do in terms of house / garden / study / job apps that i really just have to persevere although yesterday was wiped out with an upset tum and today has started the same _pale_
Thanks for the vote on doing the course - i figured for that price its something practical - which is one of the ways i like to learn - and a book would probably cost about the same. I remember using macros vaguely on the course i did before. Really hoping this will help me get a new job so a tenner well spent- and even if it doesn't help with a job it will still be a good skill to have and i will use it to create a house spreadsheet for me
Ooh how fab that we may have lived near each other :T and that we're a similar age tooIf we both keep up our running we could maybe meet up for a big organised run somewhere?
I'd love to eventually build up to the marathon but maybe do the great north run and edinburgh first - best up my 5k first though :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Disappointed as i am too ill to run today
Its nice when you post chocs - i always like hearing from you and the same goes for me i like to hear your perspective on things tooYou can always PM me if you want to x

Hey PB
Lovely to see you again - i kept looking out for you on your thread but figured you were probably busy still x
Haha - when i booked on the second course - the one mentioned above is not the excel course i thought about you as we both seem to like to study alotI'd better get myself organised as i'm now studying 2 different courses and reading for uni as well  and i go on holiday soon as well
Sorry you couldn't do the course you wanted to - i know it must have been a tough choice but its good that you've weighed it all up and like you say you can do it later when you're in a better position for it
I am jealous of people with lots of things to get rid of nowi've sorted my stuff out to the point where i went through my tops and lifted out 3 tops for the carboot and 1 to give away and that was it - would love to have a stash of ebayable goodies but alas thats not happening for me now - oh well - good to know all unneeded stuff has been cleared out anyways.
Hope all is good with you and that you are enjoying your new job xxCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Hi all,
Copied my list out so i could see where i was up to and what still needed doing. Some of the things i've half done or done and they need doing again - so cashback half done as i still have 1 to do and washing pots was done but now needs to be done again.
Bedroom looks loads better with the cabinet clear
And as you know i did loads of gardening but the plan is to do just a bit more today - no more than 30 minutes as i have other things i need to get on with as well - hopefully 30 minutes will see one section finished as far as it can be for now which will be great
Also, as mentioned i am poorly but not as wiped out as yesterday so i still want to achieve stuff as this will only make next week easier for me
Although i'm busy this weekend i am trying to get all the jobs like tidying and cleaning squeezed into the working week as far as possible then the weekend will feel much more like time off
Right best get on with pots first, then move last lot of drying and thats 2 things crossed off straight away. Then gardening and then i'll hopefully pop back and get another mini list done :T
Hope everyone is well - ooh nearly forgot to say - i took an item back and as i was leaving the shop i found some sneakers in the sale - no make but there i was trying them on and then i thought - the ones i have do need replacing but not just yet for now they do the job just fine so i will keep with them until they do fall apartGlad i kept my refund in tact

Well a bit more done in the garden and each time it looks better - on the section i've been working on i can't do any more until the plant about to flower flowers as i don't want to give it a shock - that then needs digging up splitting and moving and that whole section will be done - aside from keeping on top of what feels like continual weeding
Ok next jobs are cashback and moving the dumped item. I really need to check banking but not enough privacy for that at the mo.
So cashback, lunch, move dumped item, then a nice shower and see how i feel - my mr wants us to got i don't think he realises how ill i feelCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Well most things have been done or started :T Time to make a new list for all the new things i need to do or forgot about
1, Filing
2, Re-write personal statement and submit job app
3, [STRIKE]Contact bank a/c re. info[/STRIKE]
4, Organise excel course
5, [STRIKE]Check banking with old credit card and contact if necessary[/STRIKE]
6, [STRIKE]Check credit file[/STRIKE]
7, Lift out bags and sort out
8, gardening - more weeding and starting on next section
9, Pack toiletries
10, work out clothes packing
11, [STRIKE]Write new monthly budget based on cancelled personal spend and new savings[/STRIKE]
12, finish bookCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000
