Hi Dedicated!
Well, sometimes these thing need saying, so well done on putting them other there!
As for decluttering, what I have done in two evenings and a weekend would put Kim and Aggie to shame. I'm very proud!

Wow! I have not posted for a while and there is so much to catch up on and probably not enough time / energy for it all right now.
Energy-wise i have been feeling extremely run down again but have booked myself into the docs and am going to insist on being referred to a thyroid specialist. This will be my second request for this. If it is declined i will ask to see the practice managerAs much as i do appreciate my doctors and do think they are very good i think there is information / appointments / medication i would get without having to battle for it every single time - which is hard when i'm already feeling completely run down
Case in point - 6 months ago my medication needed increasing - still not been done
My weekend list became a bit of a week list and i'll need to see what else i need to do soon.
I did manage to declutter a few items but only 2 to the bay of e.CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Oh dear! How 2 steps forwards 1 step back am i ?
I really need to set myself a spending money budget - this way i know what i have to spend 'guilt free' and i can really weigh up how i can make the most of my spends rather than what is happening at the moment - a £0 spend budget where i buy alot of the things i want - as in way more than a budget would allow
Even though i know a few of the reasons i spend money it is hard for me to put things in place to stop this  i guess i need to leave all cash and cards at home - but then i'd worry about being broken into and all the cards etc. going
(There have been a couple of break-ins lately).
I took my mum on a few errands the other day and unfortunately she is a terrible enabler when it comes to buying things even though she knows i really struggle for money (doesn't know extent of debt). Anyways ... deep breath...
1 dress £20 - reduced from £60
1 jumper £15 - reduced from £55
3 presents - reduced from £10 each to £1 each
1 top - £12 - reduced from £40
1 jacket - £19 - reduced from £40
1 shorts £10 - reduced from £30
1 bag £15 - reduced from £40
1 bag £10 - reduced from £30
1 blouse £15 - reduced from £45
:eek::eek::eek:
I don't even want to add all that up :eek::eek::(:(:( Instead of being happy with my purchases - all of which I do love rather thann just like - i felt a bit guilty as we left the shop and decided to return the items the next day - only to find they no longer offer refunds on sale goods :wall::wall::wall: They always have done in the past and it is a shop i go to alot - there were no signs up about the policy change though it could have been a bit back that this happened - i normally check the policy too but as i say its a place i am so familiar with that i didn't
What also triggered the massive spending was not only the encouragement from my mother but because of work and also because i am unhappy in myself and the way i look - especially since the weight gain when 90% of my wardrobe is too small now- it felt good putting something new on that actually fit and could be fastened up without a battle
I decided to put everything down on here that i bought
I am pretty annoyed with myself about it to be honest - as i am sat here the rain is pouring down and i can hear it all splashing down where the gutters have failedi woke up and came downstairs to the usual pool of water behind the door from when it rains
All jobs i want to have done and here i am chucking money away clothes etc.
i am exercising and healthy eating in an attempt to get the weight back off - its more of a gain due to thyroid though as i was eating really healthily when the weight went onI will feel better about myself once this weight is back off though
Right, off to work now - hope everyone is well xCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Hey ddfw
A spending budget is defo required
I think trying to go cold turkey is too much for anyone really, so you must be able to have a bit of pocket money.
If you can't return them, then you could either sell them or do a 'one in one out' where you get rid of something else. If you've got stuff that's too small, then sell it on and buy something new when you've slimmed down - particularly if it's stuff you don't love.
I hope you get your thyroid referral, it's been going on too long now."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Aw Thanks guys and hello to Knit Witch
I think a good idea would be for me to keep track of my spending as to be honest i really don't think of the total amount spent
I'll go for a while not spending anything at all and then have a bit of a blow out
Jwil - i am having a clearout and have parted with alot of items - to be fair alot of stuff doesn't fit any more, i love being able to put clothes on and just zip them up without a massive battleI also, of course, enjoy having new things - alot of this is probably connected with my low self-esteem which hasn't been helped by my massive weight gain
:(
I've been poorly all weekendand am behind on all the cleaning jobs because of it - was well enough to go to work today so was straight home and getting on with all the cleaning etc. - it'll take me all week to catch up.
Hope everyone is well xCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
I've decided to log my spends on here - in an attempt to make me face up to the amount i am spending and also in the hopes that having to post about any purchases / spends will be a great demotivating factor
I'm not counting direct debits or standing orders as they are essential bills
Monday:-
Paid bill £31.00
Food £5.00 (should come out of shopping budget)
Personal items £3.00
Gift £74
Tuesday:-
Shoes & 3 pairs of work tights £19.00
Sarnie £1.88 - i need to look into taking more food as i'm not lasting on my packed lunch
Paid Bill £72.19
Returned jumper and top from the other day - they were faulty so i got a refund :TCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Ok, the gift is the item i think that really stands out on mondays purchases - it was a tad frivolous and well thought out all at the same time  Basically my birthday is a little over a month away and i tend to get a bit of money off a couple of people (i only get gifts off about 4 people altogether) and when i say a bit of money it is about £10- £30 depending who its from. I was really good at xmas and used the money to overpay the mortgage but i was then in a tricky position being asked what i'd spent the money on and having to show the people what i'd purchased... So when i had the opportunity to snag an item i've wanted for about 15years :eek::eek: (where did that time go?) And said item was 80% off i took the plunge. Normally i'd buy this and then something else with the money as well
but i'm going to be good and put it away and then i can lift it out after my birthday and say 'oh i used the money for this'
and any surplus money i can throw at the mortgage :T Of course the only problem to this plan is if the people who've already said they'll just give me the money don't  I hope it doesn't sound like i expect stuff but it is my birthday and it is only family who buy for me / give me money and they always do even when i tell them not to bother.
