Basford, I disagree that POPLAis run by cretins. It's run by PATAS and the adjuducators are ex PATAS.
While we know they are not perfect, they do know the law pretty well and I can well imagine them having a real struggle to reconcile their status as an 'independant' adjudicator with the limited scope of appeal criteria allowed and the malpractice shown by ppc's.

I bet they are too embarrassed to release their findings, especially as they know they will be picked apartand used as precedents.

They've had months to prepare for this, and as Basfordlad's was probably one of the first appeals they received I can't see that they are snowed under.

I do suggest that they may be on the horns of a dilemma. I would debate whether they know the law well enough - they will be familiar with the RTA et al, but this encompasses civil law - contract law, trespass, and the like - and I am unsure how expert they might be in that area of law.

They are still waiting for a reply from the bpa, you know the ones that own popla ;)
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

    Hmmmm...you could be right!

BASFORDLAD, how about a FOI request to LondonCouncils, asking for copies of all correspondence between POPLA and the BPA which involves any appeal so far referred to POPLA? All correspondence - redacted only where necessary, such as if individual data/detail of an appellant is included - since, say, 1st November (one month in from the POFA) to date.

Am wondering if they are asking the BPA for opinions = not independent! :)
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks Coupon , sent you a pm :)

It would have to be aimed at London Councils as they state POPLA is not subject to FOI requests
    For everthing else there's mastercard.
    For clampers there's Barclaycard.
  • I am still waiting too! I've kicked of with London Councils but don't think Much will change. Once my POPLA appeal is finalised might do a DPA request to see what/who was consulted over my case. Not sure it will provide much.
  • I just got off phone with POPLA who advised mine is in the final stages of its assessment and I should get My result in a week. That means yours should be popping through the post box a bit earlier......if we believe them of course........

    Did they say which week?;)
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
