Hi Fairy - hope your very early (6am!!) post here doesn't mean your sleeping is bad again?
It's my last day off work todayreally not looking forward to going back tomorrow, or indeed at all. I have a return to work interview with HR on Monday, at which point I'll ask for a copy of the grievance process (it should be on our website, but isn't) and also get them to clarify whether I'll only receive statutory sick pay for the last week. If they've put me down to SSP, I will be VERY CROSS, seeing as I've been off with work-related stress.
Other than that, I've been running around everywhere today, trying to take an hour to catch up on things before I shoot off to get the car looked it - it started making ominous noises in reverse this morningit never rains but it pours eh?! If it's going to be an expensive fix I'll probably have to leave it, due to impending skintness and it also needing a £300 sunroof repair. The car's only worth £1000 so I can't keep throwing good money after bad.
I've just been to one of the 'cash for clothes' places to drop off loads of stuff, courtesy of my friend's sister (she's addicted to buying stuff she doesn't want on ebay, and then every so often has a big clear out and passes stuff to my friend, who then gives it to me!) - I did feel vaguely guilty as usually I'd have taken it to a charity shop, but needed the money really. Luckily there were lots of coats and scarves in there which brought it up to 14.5kg but even so I only earned £5.07! Still, better than nothing and at least it all goes to charities in Africa, or so they told me.....
So, here are my positive steps for my last day of freedom:
1. Sort out everything I need for tomorrow so I don't have a panic in the morning.
2. Send some more letters & statements to CAP - I don't think there's anything I need to do, but best to make sure.
3. Catch up on a few emails to friends & family.
That's it, other than getting the car sorted out, fingers crossed anyway!! xxxFinally debt free!! March 2018 :j0 -
PS what a fab idea about the free shampoo etc Fairy, I think I will have to give that a go!Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j0

Am afraid my sleeping is completely off the wall again - i finally got to sleep at something after 8am this morning and been awake since 10 - i am so tried i can hardly do anything. I think this is now the 4th or 5th night of stupid sleep pattern yet again
I am going to stop watching online programs when i go to bed as that seems to contribute to the problem and instead find another good book i can read - sleep was much better when i was doing this so will try it again.
Ruby be careful about going back to work too soon if you have workplace stress AND MAKE SURE it is recorded in your medical file (just in case you need it later - i wish i had done this more often..) I would also suggest you contact the health and safety executive http://www.hse.gov.uk/ for info about what your employer should be doing. Get yourself well informed and use it, cos it will scare the pants off your employer and hopefully help you sort the situation out properly.
Positive steps for me today are:
to rest even if i'm not sleeping - done
have a shower - done
go out for a little walk
make a nice dinner - done
look for a book for bedtime
do a little bit more knitting - done
maybe add 1 thing to ebay if i can face it - done
promotion of fb page - i'm almost at 300 likes- done
thats about it, nothing too strenuous mentally or physically today!!
wish me luck for a decent sleep tonight

Good luck Fairy for a good long sleep tonight!! Big hugs
Had a quick look at the HSE website thank you, and already identified something my company isn't doing - senior management are definitely NOT on board:

I do think you're right about watching things online, the same happens to me; it's like my brain gets too active (even when watching something undemanding) and then can't switch off to let me go to sleep.
Right, CAP emails done and everything sorted for tomorrow, I will hopefully be back on here soon to let you know how it went! Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j0 -
Thanks Ruby
am glad the site proved useful already

Fairy, I need to lend you Harley to help you sleep. He's started sleeping on my pillow but with his head tucked under my chine and his purring is so relaxing and theraputic. He's a hyperactive nutter between the hours of 6am and 10pm, mind!
Not been doing any out of the ordinary stepping but am lacking motivation to do anything other than the standard, minimum housework. So this weekend I intend to make a start on making Christmas cards. I found a load of stamped, unmounted bits and loads of xmassy paper bits I intend to use up0 -
