But it's internet lingo. I don't say "L-O-L" when I find something funny "offline", I laugh. I don't turn my head sideways to stick my head out, but I type :-P on my PC. I only call my OH "OH" online and I'm sure many people only use DS, DD, etc. on forums and so on too, not literally calling them "dear" all the time.

I agree, hubby is also quite dire - although not as bad as OH.
However; this thread has helped me to overcome my disdain. I knew it would help to post my feelings on the subject (The bottle of baileys also helped)
