Firefox keeps crashing! Even if I only have one tab open - it crashes.
I've done all the updates and its now getting worse!
I know to avoid IE at all costs but don't know which of the other browsers would suit me better. Could you wonderfully kind people advise please?
I listen to the radio , play Facebook games and check my emails.
Many many thanks

Start Firefox in its own safe mode (not windows safe mode), it's possibly an add-on causing it.

Firefox keeps crashing for me the 1st time I open it, then it wont open again.
If i restart the computer its fine until the next time I turn it off. It was fine up until the last update. I might give google chrome a try.0 -
Whatever the browser, browser problems are nearly always caused by 3rd party add-ons.0

I don't have any add ons

Have started it in safe mode and will see what happens. The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.0 -

A problem with Firefox failing to open can be due to two or more instances of it trying to launch at the same time. If you check on the task manager and seen multiple instances of Firefox.exe, delete them then try relaunching. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

When I click on Firefox - Add ons, it goes to 'add add ons' and has a nice little thing to click on to tell me what are add ons!I think you'll find you will have.
I haven't added any, though I realize that sites could add them without me knowing. The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.0 -
What version are you using? It should be 17.0.1. Whats the operating system? That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Opera is a good alternative browser to try but before switching I would try to locate the problem. It is unlikely to be Firefox itself - unless the profile somehow got corrupted?
I have used Firefox for years (Windows XP) with around 12 extensions (add ons) and 9 plug ins and have never had a problem with it crashing.0
