The one I make is for a Green day with Slimming World - really nice, even my fussiest DD likes it !

1 packet pasta and sauce (we use the cheese & broccoli one) - make it according to the instructions and use it to make the bottom layer in a lightly oiled (frylight !!) quiche/flan dish and allow to cool a bit.

Stick in some chopped veg - peppers, tomatoes, onions, etc etc - whatever you like best.

Mix together one tub of low fat cottage cheese with 3 beaten eggs (I give it a quick zizz with a hand blender to smooth the lumps a bit & fool the kids ! 'but I don't like cottage cheese.....!').

Pour the lot onto the pasta layer, grate a bit of cheese on top and stick in the oven for about half an hour until puffed up and golden on top.

Much nicer than I thought it would be when I first heard about it - make it quite often now. Great hot with a baked potato or rice / green salad.

No worries Vicki. I have made this myself and it is very nice, I think you can also make it with a made up pasta 'n' sauce instead of the corned beef but I haven't tried that, not much good for that atkins that way though:wink:

Oh dear didn't notice the post above, now I just look sarky!!

If you're following SW now - this isn't free on a red/original day. It used to be but rules changed and should now be synned.

Quite right 1sttimer, on the original document this was marked as sin free but is no longer syn free. I never ate so much corned beef as when I was on SW originally and once they made it a non free food I don't think I have had it since LOL

I have recipe for a Tuna Flan but of course it needs a pastry case.

    1) I never made pastry

    2) I want something a little lighter and to save on calories

Anyone make them and how good do they turn out with out the pastry.

I was just thinking of putting in a sandwich tin greased and putting it my steamer to cook rather than the oven.

Can anyone for see any problems

    Thanks in advance.

    Yours

    Calley

I have made this savoury impossible pie before, courtesy of the Australian Women's Weekly - http://aww.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=41315.

It's gorgeous and turns out very easily from a plain flan dish as it shrinks a little when cooking. It's quite easily adaptable too.

    Hi

I used to make a pastry free quiche when I went to slimming world. You use a normal size pot of cottage cheese and three eggs (some people only used 2 eggs). Mix together and then add whatever you want - I used to add whatever I had left over in the fridge but tuna, meat anything would be fine.

Put it in your tin and then cook in the oven on 220 until cooked. I don't know if you can cook it any other way.

    It is absolutely delicious!!

    Hi calley,

There's an earlier thread with some recipes that should help so I've added your thread to it to keep all the replies together.
