I am utterly gobsmacked the people actually bid on these mystery presents. This one, 181049922891, is apparently likely to contain a white gold piece of jewellery or a watch - or maybe both! Of course the seller isn't going to open the gifts and sell the (possibly) expensive items, no, they would rather take £15.

    Unbelievable.

Yes, what on earth is going on there?

  • When I first saw it I thought it was a joke page or was a bid for charity but this guy is actually getting 33k for a tv licence!!! Might have to sell mine at this rate! lol

That TV licence thing - clearly you can't transfer a TV licence, so I imagine the bidders are yanking his chain , have a feeling the winner of that auction won't be paying!

Also, the whole unwanted Christmas present thing. Would any one really fall for it? There's one seller with piles of presents left over from the secret Santa, another with presents from her ex, and another who 'forgot ' to open the present. But judging from the bids, people are falling for it.

I'm sure there will be a load of unwanted presents going on ebay this week, but at least the genuine ones are opened presents.

I'm watching a few of the gift wraped ones, just to see what sort of feedback is left !

  • I've sold unwanted Xmas pressies before.

Usually the crap that gets bought for me thinking I'd like to smell like a 30 year old piece of wood while wearing some socks that are too small.

For all those times when you desperately need to do a complex numerical calculation.....in the dark.
