GingerNinja_87 wrote: »Hi guys. Haven't posted in a while but can I get advise on coupons since I'm sure you've the best experience with staff. Can a whole store just refuse coupons "because they've had lots of frauds so refuse them now" I'm sure I always read stories of you guys being pushed by the staff but your in your right to use them etc... The supervisor (or guy the SA dinged for) said he accepts non of the "safecoupons and haven't for months" and of course the SA had no clue about this... I emailed CS about it and they called back and said they spoke to the store and this store is indeed no longer accepting them and its up to stores to decide.. But I've never heard this happening to trout stories on here. Should I have fought harder? I was hoping I could get a confirmation that they should accept them but it seems if they want to say no they can do
EDIT: This was in tosco btw
They do not have to let you use coupons.
They do not have to sell you ANYTHING, in fact they do not even have to let you in the store!!!
As for the law on selling instore, the SEL prices are an INVITATION TO TREAT, when you put the shopping through the till the price that comes up is the OFFER, you handing over the money is the ACCEPTANCE. After that they cannot do anything about your transaction as the goods are then yours.
That is, of course, assuming the basic law on this subject has not changed in the last 34 years, which I am pretty sure it has not. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Looking at the stories about what people eat raw I haven't noticed anyone mentioning mushrooms. I love them raw
When I was 14 I used to work in a garden centre with a veg section at the other end and people used to dare me to eat various things raw, and I NEVER lost a dare!!! Disappointingly they gave up when someone dared me to eat a charcoal dog buscuit. It was actually quite niceWhat is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Morning, school run done now just waiting on my mum leaving my cousins wee one off with me while they go to a family court hearing.
I just hope it doesn't take all day, they've just to finalise supervised visiting which should start this weekend or next. So long as there's no drama with her ex, he has been behaving but did want the child on Xmas day and rang and texted everyone constantly eventhough there was a court order saying he wasn't to see him until today's meeting.
It was a total nightmare, when no one responded he stated that today he would be fighting the 'supervised' bit of the order but he forgets about his violent convictions and that was the reason for supervision and the fact that the boy doesn't know who he is.
He thinks that the boy will instantly recognise who he is eventhough he last saw him almost 10 months ago when he was 1 month old. The guy's no sense, he told the judge that the boy would soon calm down and he would deal with the crying but the judge asked him what he would do if it didn't stop and he said he doesn't know. It is on record that social services had a report from his nephew (who is on the at risk register) that on more than one occasion this guy screamed in his baby nieces face and shoved her making her fall over because she wouldn't stop crying, this is one of the main reasons for supervision. They don't think he could cope by himself with him at least until the child gets to know him and he gets to know the boys quirks.
Sorry for rambling but anytime I try to talk to people about it they take his side because they don't know all the details, they haven't seen the reports and how serious some of the offences are. They haven't seen photos of his niece after he'd shoved her, she was just learning to walk at one point and fell badly so her wee face was badly bruised so much so that her mum refused to take the child out until it cleared and told peoe she had chicken pox so they wouldn't ask more about her.
I could scream at some times with some people's attitudeSPC #329 £471/£500 banked

Part of an email from tesco cs
She has confirmed manufacturers coupons will be accepted at all stores as long as the terms and conditions are followed. They must be legible, in colour or black and white, but not photocopied. The coupon must be in date and the exact product the coupon discount is for, is being purchased. Coupons printed at home from online offers are also accepted as long as the above information is adhered to.
