Morning all and thanks to all those who wished me well...
just off to the hospital now to admit OH but no word from work, no call, nothing.
I feel like I am invisible as they seem to think that I will be going to work on friday as they have refused annual leave to look after OH as he cannot be left alone after discharge from hospital.

Look after your OH :A - I could kick myself for things that I did for employers in the past. Take what time off you are entitled to - just cover yourself in writing/text/email to them so that they cannot take any action against you. Sorry for advice hun. Best wishes to you and your OH.

    Morning all :)

Happy 2013 to you all  Hope those that had a !!!! 2012 have a vast improvement and those who had a solid year are able to build on it's success :)

:j Nice to see you back Westie.

Wendyuk ... good luck today with OH ... Don't worry about work surely you can take one day off  sounds like my job.

If you never have time off you get frowned on when you do. Those who are always off get thought of better. Makes me

Wendy. They are being unreasonable and your request is a care issue to which you are entitled to reasonable time off. Like patty says email to confirm in writing why you need the time off and ask them to confirm by return that this has been approved as a reasonable request. :)

Go to your doctor tell them you are stressed out and not sleeping due to worry, get a sicknote for a week and then you are covered.

I have been with my current employer for 7 years and the only time I had off was when my mum was dying. You are thought of no higher when you put the job first, as I have found out the hard way.

    Happy 2013 everyone!
My new years resolution: to keep up with this thread! Been very slack with glitching/couponing. I'm sure I must have wasted loads in the last 6 months.

Plus I've finally run out of OEP :rotfl:

We used to watch our window cleaners just walk past our house and cleaning the neighbours windows but they still came round later for payment. Needless to say they are no longer our window cleaners.
