Ohhh the big purple 1, now that was one i was successful at. Got 200 and gave them all away to OH staff.

On a sad note, i have just one packet of lasagne sheets left. Remember those?!

Of course I remember the lasagne, thanks to you. ;) Although once I knew what I was looking for I found lots more in different stores. Still have about dozen packets left. :o

And the 22p wholewheat pasta, still have loads of packs of that left, stores restocked with those everytime I went for weeks. :)

Think both of those were 2011 finds, can't believe how much the Elite have grown since then. :T:T:T

:(:( As if 2012 has not been bad enough, I wont chronicle it all now but some of you know it has, I have just heard that a friend that I've known forever has passed away from Ovarian Cancer.

What makes it even harder is that we dont live that close anymore but I was the first person she told & I went to her first chemo with her & looked after her afterwards I encoraged her to tell her friends & neighbours down there & if they offered help she should accept it but as time went on she didnt want me to go down & didnt even want to talk to me on the phone, & she also didnt want any of our mutual friends to know she was ill so I've had to avoid everyone

    So upset tonight

    :( :grouphug: :A

:(:( the sad thing about that horrible illness is everyone finds their own different ways to deal with it. I lost my lovely FIL to lung cancer and as soon as he had a positive diagnosis he literally gave up and was gone in 3 weeks.

My dear dad had bowel cancer and never gave up, fought like a trooper until the bitter end. Was positive every step of the way.

I guess your friend didn't want the people closest to suffer and dealt with it the way that she thought best. There's never an easy way to deal with it and everyone makes different choices. You sound like you were a wonderful, friend and of course you're upset. You have lost a friend and it hurts. Sending you hugs, you did what any friend would have done :A

    sleeping tablets?:rotfl:

It's ok I'm here for a while, trying to catch up, don't like being behind but may admit defeat.

Mr T has been kindly feeding free party food to my family this week, think one of my locals has badly overstocked as loads in the reduced section last three evenings. Getting a few other treats with my "credit". :D

And not sure if posted yet but As had loads of biscuit reductions today. Most £1.50 a box, McVities, Foxes etc not a Vinnies in sight. I got a few boxes with my last APG as I always seem to miss the right time to get the Vinnies. ;)

Also the Foxes treasure chest with 12 packs of mini biscuits like party rings were £1 and brandy snaps were 75p. :)

Anyone local to me our As had the £1 vodka and bailey tins. Thanks to the OP of those too. ;)

Im behind too Tinyshoes. I don't think I need biscuits......my OH and I were trying to resolve some storage issues earlier. I need a shelf glitch

Im not shopping now until Sunday. I expect all the voddy and baileys tins will be long gone by then. I went to Ts yesterday and the reductions were appalling! hardly anything reduced at all.

Hope you had a nice Christmas x

QPR10 sorry to hear of your friend. I lost someone close & always felt that she didn't do enough to fight - not eating properly, still smoking, not taking advice from doctors. Hated to see her like that as she'd always been a strong woman. Unless we're in that situation I suppose none of us know how we'd feel or react.

We shared so much together and there isn't a day that something reminds me of her or things we did but at least now I know & I can hear her saying "Onwards & upwards"

She was a fully trained nurse but always saw illness in herself & others as a weakness, she would have known exactly what was going on & how things would progress
