Just thought I would add - if you are a new customer there is no 12 month contract now - only 18 month (just been seeing when my contract expired..)

How long is my AOL Broadband contract?
From 21st May 2007 all new AOL Broadband members will be subject to an 18-month contract, and the 12-month contract will no longer be available. We have made this change to keep in line with industry standards.

If you have been an AOL Broadband member since before 21st May 2007, the length of your contract will remain the same, ie 12 months. Only members signing up after 21st May 2007 will be subject to an 18-month contract. The 18-month contract will also apply to existing members who sign up to a new AOL Broadband product.

You will have received a letter or email from us when you first signed up to AOL Broadband, which states your contract length. Please refer to this to confirm your contract length. If you are unsure, please contact AOL Broadband Member Services.
    You can contact AOL Broadband Member Services between 8am and 12 midnight on 0870 3 20 20 20* (from outside the UK , dial +44 117 919 1100).

You read my mind! I recently switched to AOL from Eclipse (mostly driven by my desire to earn £32.50 through Quidco), but only did this as I have a compatible router already.
