well my plan of action-
- speak to the gas company, get them to come and check my meter
- wait for the guy to come and check my boiler on wed, as my hot water is on/off at the moment
- if there's nothing wrong with the meter, send copies of the gas bills and a pleaing letter tothe landlord - please look at changing the boiler:rotfl:
- if all the above fails we will move in february when our tenancy is up0 -
:hello: Everyone,
Sorry to jump off your current chat topic (it all sounds very frustrating amr547! I hope you get it all sorted!)
Just wanted to say Hi! I've been subscribed to this thread for a while as an incentive to try to bring forward my Debt Free Date which was originally Jan 2014.
I've been number crunching and with recently having moved, I have a little more money and should be able to bring my DFD forward to Christmas 2013!! :j So fingers crossed, my November wage is my new aim to be paying back final figures and it looks very achievable!
At the mo my current figure is: £1730/£4130 = 42% Paid.
Over the next few months I should be able to pay much bigger chunks off the debt. Eeee! *excited* Thank you for this thread as it is pushing me to bring that delectable Debt Free Date nearer!! :T:coffee:

I don't think i'm wrong - i am talking about the physical units moved on the meter. The imperial units are converted to metric by mutliplying them by 2.83 to get the cubic meters used.
Amr - good luck speaking to your gas company - hopefully they'll be able to discuss your meter/tariffs and give advice.

Hoping you get it all sorted out swiftly amr547. It must be very frustrating but we don't want you crying about it though .... more "Grrr-ing" I say.
Getting someone to look at the meter definitely sounds like a plan. At least being able to either prove or eliminate problems with equipment will help you move on with a solution. Good luck0 -
I don't think i'm wrong
I think you are.
You quoted an average unit usage of about 1-3 on imperial and 4-7 metric per day.
There are over 35 cubic feet in 1 cubic metre, so your 4-7 cubic metres per day, is between about 141 and 247 cubic feet per day.
1-3 cubic feet per day, is between 0.028317 and 0.084951 cubic metres per day.The imperial units are converted to metric by mutliplying them by 2.83 to get the cubic meters used.
Actually, you multiply them by 0.0283.
That's 100 times smaller.0 -

Bob - lets agree to differ. If you are right, then i apologise - my previous job as a billing advisor for a utility company obviously gave me the incorrect training on guiding people reading their meters.
ETA: Bob you got me thinking about the 2.83 calculation! So i googled and which show the calculation i was taught to use - http://www.which.co.uk/switch/energy-advice/how-to-read-your-gas-meter

Non-MSE gender scan on Saturday, but I'm excited and you only do it once. They give you 20mins and a DVD of the scan.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Oh wow! I can certainly understand your excitement. I think when the time comes i'll pay for 1 of those 4d scan things. It may not be MSE but sometimes there's more value in things than monetary.:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:
