  • newlywed is it possible to post things in the selling groups without having to load them as photos that will spam friends feeds? I've not tried it yet, but in wanted to ask before I waste time taking photos!

Hi Minicooper, unfortunately if the group is public, then it may appear in your friends' newsfeeds. If they are private then it won't (unless any of your friends are on the same selling group as you)

  • morning all :)

I feel a bit like i've been in limbo the last week waiting for the balance transfer to go through. i couldnt do the planned £1500 as it would only let me have 90% of available balance, so 1300 instead, but better than nothing.

    so here goes
    £1823.98 to K&Co
    £1669.21 to Barclaycard
    £1450.94 to Halifax
    £853.09 to Capital one

    grand total time

lets get debt busting, cant wait to register my first percent :D

Welcome Medusa, registering payments and percentages will feel great! It is quite an eye opener sitting down and adding all the debt up, but once you have done it you can start to deal with it which is an awesome feeling. I am always excited about payday now, but not for the reasons I used to have (shopping!), but to pay off more debt!!!

  • Hi dd1981,

I've been playing with various mortgage calculators on the web and I've noticed that for each £1000 of cc debt, the amount that can be borrowed drops by £10,000. This is just one reason I'm not likely to get a mortgage any time soon!

Well done on your PPI I'm waiting for my cheque at the moment.

Oh my word Triple, that is a depressing realisation of how our debt affects us!! Definitely nailing this debt once and for all!!!

  • Well done Braddy, 40% is amazing! Great news about the job on Monday too.

AMR - sorry to hear you are feeling stressed at the moment, hope it passes soon. I love your wishlist! I can identify with all of those things that you want, dreading sorting my teeth out though as I am phobic of the dentist, haven't been in years :(

Hismissus - great news on your debt going in to 3 figures! I love reading things like this as it spurs me on with our debt!

  • Kerri - I will +1 you :D, just let me know how I do it x

AMR - Keeping fingers crossed that your payslip turns up today, and that it isn't as bad as you are worrying it will be xxx

Sorry I have been a bit absent of late, but I am busy selling like a crazy selling lady!!! We want to reclaim our home from the clutches of our wedding! It is strange, you live and breathe your wedding while planning it, but now it is all over, we can't wait to see the back of it all!! I am sick of the sight of it all!!!

The selling has gone well so far, we have at least made our money back on everything we have sold over the last few weeks, and even made profit on some things. I worried so much while planning our wedding that the things I picked for it were tacky/awful, but it seems not as people have literally ripped my arm off for a lot of what we have advertised!!! I obviously have a better "eye" for things than I give myself credit for! We have been very lucky to get back what we paid for things as I know a lot of brides have to sell things at big losses.

The selling has gone so well that Capital One was £855 when we got the statement in this month, and we checked last night to see what all the payments we had made to it from the things we sold had done to the balance, and there is only £220 left on it now! AMAZING! So that will be paid off in full tomorrow and then closed.

We have done brilliantly between last payday and this, as we have cleared the Evans storecard and closed it, Debenhams storecard and closed it, cleared the First Direct overdraft and cancelled it (we now use this account as our expenses account for food shopping, bills, car maintenance etc), and now Capital One too, good times! I know they were only the smallest of our debts, but it feels so good to have eliminated 4 of our debts in one month, so much less to think about and concentrate on, we are just so happy about it. Now we can concentrate on hammering the bigger cards.

This month will be tough for us, as we are buying tickets to Jools Holland at a picnic concert near us, we are buying these as a present for my mum and dad for their birthdays (the concert falls within 2 days of my dad's birthday), also buying a family ticket to Harry Potter tour at Warner Bros Studios for ourselves and my 2 youngest bridesmaids (we are going on my birthday in August, school holidays eek!), and buying a large fine art print of one of our wedding photos for the wall in our home. I feel SO guilty about all the spending, but at least it sorts mum and dad's presents all in one go, and as bad as I feel about spending on the wedding picture, but we literally have NOTHING on display in our home from our wedding day, noone would know we were married if they didn't know us and came to our home! 5 months in to our marriage I just got fed up with it, so we have ordered a big print to hang on the wall. This should sate me for a while before we can justify buying our wedding album!!!

Really excited about payday tomorrow, as despite all the spends above, there will be some money left in the pot for overpayments :D

    Hi,

    Pay Day - YAY :j:j
I'm here for my monthly update. I read every day, but don't really have much to add on a daily basis. Everyone seems to be doing so well! :D

I'm slowly plodding away at the savings pot to pay back my 0% card, but had an expensive month as we had to pay for 3 weeks childcare over easter. and we are busy decorating the kids rooms. DS's is done & as I've ebayed loads of furniture to offset the cost & I havent made our debt bigger. DD's room is next so that will be a challenge!

    #18 4377.93/5160.38 84.84%

I'm aiming for 95% in May and 100% in June :j Then I'm tackling the mortgage
