is looking likely that we will have to pay our credit cards with the equity from our flat as mortgage companies won't give us the mortgage we need unless we don't have this debt
Feel like its a bit of a cheat to pay it off this way although am really looking forward to being debt free and overpaying the mortgage! x
Hi dd1981,
I've been playing with various mortgage calculators on the web and I've noticed that for each £1000 of cc debt, the amount that can be borrowed drops by £10,000. This is just one reason I'm not likely to get a mortgage any time soon!
Well done on your PPI I'm waiting for my cheque at the moment.0 -

Wow, that's massive! Never realised how much credit card debt affects mortgages! That's loads! Mortgage advisor says that it is all about affordability. They cant take into account that credit cards are all bar one on 0% interest. Unfortunately, they can't take my hubby's income into account either as his credit rating is terrible and finishes his debt management plan in Sept. then we will have an extra £320 a month! Def going to over pay the mortgage and get some savings.
Well done on your PPI cheque tooHope it comes soon!

Hi everyone
Instead of joining the gym has anyone looked at the couch to 5k challenge? I really want to give it a go but it's so hard being a single parent.
My figures are £3893.12 / £14300. 37 as of today. Disappointed that haven't got below the 10k mark yet but not far off so must stay focused.0 -
hurry up pay day, pulling my hair out with stress at the moment0

I am back from my weeks hols and only overspent by a little bit on some walking gear for my DS which will be getting well used over the next year or so. Had a lovely break:)
Pay day for me today but no payments as yet. We need to keep our extra in reserve this month as we have some big expenses coming up. I am sure some bits on top of the Direct debits will be made, I won't be able to resist:rotfl:

I've just started the couch to 5k challenge, only I'm doing it on the treadmill at the gym.... It's pretty good so far - I've only just completed week one tonight (I've done a 1.5 weeks of week one). I definitely felt the difference today, but I'm not really looking forward to week 2 starting on Wed! Recommend using the Podcasts if you can!0
