Oh dear, not been on for such a long time that I have just reported the thread as :spam: (don't worry i've unreported it) :rotfl:

A big day i've been waiting months for has finally arrived. Not only do I have ONE creditor left i've also finally got rid of TWO credit cards that have plagued me for years.

  • It's payday today :j, so i've paid £266.09 off of 2 debts and now they are both cleared :j :j. I can really start to tackle the 2 credit cards we have now. My new total is

    #156 £1817.92/£9117.41

I just need to wait for some more statements to come in before i can pay anymore off.

My youngest son has come down with chicken poxs, so the extra day i have worked this week won't count as i've had to take a day off. Thankfully hubby does shift work, so i won't have to miss to many days.

I've only been home an hour and a half and it's been a bloomin; roller coaster!!!!

    - OH got a letter from HMRC saying the evidence he says is wrong and he still owes £600. cue an outraged OH, he rang them up all angry, turns out that is now resolved and he owed them £3. all that faff over £3 !!!

    - OH got another letter from m*orcroft saying that he still owes them £34. rage comes back and he calls them up, he doesn't owe them £34 but he will do if he doesn't sort out something with one of the CRAs!

    - OH then got an email from ec*r saying they received his complaint via ombudsbman and as gesture of goodwill will refund the payment he made for cancellation fee!

    - then i got a phonecall to say i've won gig tickets to a secret gig, wooo!

OH has also been informed he has been given a 21p an hour payrise! :rotfl:

    i'm exhausted!!!

Wow 21p amr547! 2 years ago all those who completed their NVQ'S at work got a pay rise for all the hard work they had done to achieve their qualification. We got 5p an hour rise!!! Ooh don't spend it all at once! :rotfl:

Loubie-Lou are you on a smart phone? I keep reporting people's posts by mistake! I just have to quickly un-spam it and hope it doesn't tell the person :o

amr What a frustrating day for the OH! I know it's a complicated system, but surely they know the difference between £3 and £600?? It's £597 of heart-attack!

I'm getting very excited for pay day at the end of this month as a) I have no money left and b) I get paid my overtime money :T Nothing to declare before then I'm afraid.

We've had some big management talks at work today... Because of investment cycles, my whole industry expects to have lay-offs starting from next year, which management think will mean recruitment freezes in the next 6 months or so across my discipline. I was thinking of applying for jobs back home in 6 months. That might be difficult if no one is hiring :(
  • I just wanted to say thanks to all the regulars on this thread. I am a bit of a lurker but wanted to tell you that you have inspired me to tackle my debts. I have got my money situation under control for the first time ever I think. I know what goes out when and have been tidying up and paying off my debts. I am down to 2 credit cards and have just made a payment to bring the one I am trying to get rid of first and the balance has gone under £1000 woo hoo:T
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and feel very in control of it all.
    Thanks to all of you.
Ps working out the percentages of what I have paid off is a really great motivator for me.
