Exciting stuff!
I bought a new (second hand) iPod on fleabay earlier in the week. Apart from it taking 3 days for her to ship it (she chased for payment after 3 hours and promises to post next day), the item was described as 'like new, no scratches or marks', but the screen has a fairly noticeable scratch and there are scratches and marks on the body as well. I probably wouldn't have bid as much if it wasn't 'like new' so I'm a bit annoyed  I don't know if it would be acceptable to ask for a 10% refund?0 -

This is true. We made the conscious decision to include holidays in our debt free journey. We both work full time in very demanding jobs with shiftwork and see little enough of each other and the kids as is it, so our holidays are very precious. We could probably knock a year off our DFD without them, but we'd have three or four miserable years in the process. I guess we are lucky enough that we found this site before our debt had racked up high enough for us to need a DMP (I know it's plenty high enough already!) , which I'm suspecting would not allow holidays!Long haul supporter #290POAYDBX2014 #043LBM Dec 2011 Debt £51K Debt Nov 2014 £42K0 -

Is it you that is the "bums" like me?Apologies if you aren't and now think I am being totally inappropriate :rotfl: My memory is totally shot but I am sure it was you!
Last year we had the miserable year, no going ANYWHERE but that was only sustainable for one year. This year we are taking the kids to more places and going on holiday but blimey, can we see the difference with our debt bustingIf we didn't have kids we would still be totally austere but it just isn't fair on them although we do try to do free activities, take picnics, not eat out much etc and we do teach them how to get the best value for things although being small they want to spend any pocket money from their grandparents IMMEDIATELY on moshlings etc.
I am also noticing the loss of my bank lab nightshifts this year. I must think of new ways to make £400 ish a month to replace it!DMP started Oct '17: £79,974 :eek::eek::eek::eek:0 -

I'm not -but have every respect for those that are. Only career where you almost always need to be a graduate, yet are paid slightly less than the hospital cleaners and porters.

:rotfl: Historically that isn't true...we were very lucky with high shift enhancements but now that has been taken away you are totally on the money!
